Why Software Engineer And Data Scientist Collaboration Is Important?

It’s necessary to collaborate between software engineers and data scientists for the betterment of the organization.

Data scientists are excellent mathematicians with a wide range of interdisciplinary knowledge and exceptional analytical skills. This expert’s job is to determine the best training method for machine intelligence. They should go through all of the available algorithms to find the one that is most suited for resolving the issues with the project and figure out precisely what is wrong. Data scientists must work with software developers, such as committed Laravel engineers, to boost the company’s competitive edge. Comparatively to software development, such as Laravel application development, working with data is more research-focused. The technical aspect of the problem may be handled by a Laravel developer. Both data scientists and engineers must feel accountable for the issue and be able to contribute to the project at any level. Continuous communication allows for the early detection of any possible discrepancies. In this post, we’ll look more closely at the difficulties that software developers and data scientists encounter along the process and discuss ways to enhance their interaction.

Issues that Software Engineers and Data Scientists Might Face and Their Solutions

Working directly with data, scientists assist engineers in gaining the research and analytical abilities necessary to produce better code. Users of data warehouses and data lakes are exchanging information more effectively, which improves project flexibility and yields longer-lasting, more enduring solutions. The developer and data scientist are working together to improve the business’s choices as well as the goods it offers to customers. However, issues might come up during work, and specialists will need to work together to find solutions:

Gaining knowledge from the data

The developer tends to focus more on issues that are based on particular needs, whereas the data scientist might locate the issue by identifying new data sources that can be included in predictive models.

Solution: The data scientist should concentrate on the more theoretical aspects of research and discovery, while the developer should concentrate on the execution of the solution, the needs for which are progressively identified.

Data of poor quality

Poor quality is attributed to mistakes made during the data collecting and sampling processes. Issues with data quality also make it challenging for data scientists to feel convinced that they are acting ethically. This presents challenges for developers because the data scientist initially delivered an incomplete product. It’s important to note that initiatives in both software engineering and data science fail frequently, with up to 75% of software projects failing and 87% of data science projects never reaching production. Even though they are the main consumers of data, the data scientist’s goal is to address problems with data quality. The developer receives the assignment soon after, and he then begins his portion.

Combining data from many sources

Data must frequently be merged from many areas where it is located for analysis. Lack of documentation, inconsistent schemas, and several potential meanings for data labels are all aspects that make the data challenging to comprehend.

The developer’s and data scientist’s task is to locate and construct keys that integrate many sources into templates to learn from and enhance the customer experience. The only problem is that data is kept in silos.

Describing job requirements to developers

The issue of misunderstanding might occur when data scientists and developers communicate. Given their numerous duties, developers frequently have little interest in the data scientist’s tools.

Solution: The data scientist should thoroughly describe the issue and solicit the engineering team’s assistance to get high-calibre data.

How Data Scientists and Software Engineers Can Work Together:

The following scenario may occur when transmitting production data to data scientists — they might have either very little access or a lot of access to the database. In the first instance, they repeatedly ask for access to the data export, but in the second, they repeatedly run queries that have an impact on the live database. To address this issue, a method of transferring all raw data to data scientists in a setting distinct from production must be established. The fundamental concept is that we store everything flat in a location that is simple for data scientists to access since we never know what data may be required in the future. It makes perfect sense for a software developer to generate storage space.

How Does Nft Marketing Work And Why Is It Important?

blog / Digital Marketing How to Create an Appropriate NFT Marketing Strategy for a Business [Checklist Included]

Share link

In the digital age, the task of selling virtual and intangible products and services are keeping marketers on their toes, bringing NFT marketing to forefront. An NFT, or non-fungible token, is a digitized form of actual objects such as art, music, in-game items and videos. These are transacted online, typically with cryptocurrency. Many global brands have tokenized their products and services as virtual assets.

NFT marketing focuses on promoting the NFTs in certain markets, blockchain groups, and social media platforms to attract potential purchasers interested in the crypto art.  As NFT collectibles are unique digital assets, a unique marketing approach is critical to attracting buyers. One reason why marketers need to sharpen their skills in this area is that the market for NFTs is predicted to reach $60 billion by 2031, with a CAGR of more than 19%. Hence, understanding the aspects linked to such marketing is essential for aspiring marketers.

This blog will discuss the concept of NFT marketing, highlight its importance and explore how to create an effective strategy.

What is NFT Marketing?

This marketing entails developing a strong brand identity for the NFTs, reaching out to potential purchasers via social media platforms, and engaging with influencers and artists to generate discussion.

A popular example of NFT marketing is that of Taco Bell which offered five NFTs showcasing digital artwork of its tacos on the NFT marketplace in March 2023. These were sold out in less than 30 minutes, with one selling for more than $200,000. The NFT sale helped in increasing brand recognition and engagement for Taco Bell.

Why are NFTs Important in Marketing?

NFTs are important from a marketing perspective for several reasons and the most significant ones are mentioned below.

1. Unique and Scarce

As NFTs are unique digital assets, these cannot be copied or duplicated. This makes them a valuable commodity that proves to be appealing to collectors and investors, opening up a new avenue for marketers to explore.

2. Creative Expression 3. Blockchain Technology

Collectors and investors show interest in investing in NFTs because NFTs are kept on a blockchain, which maintains a secure and transparent record of ownership and provenance. The open and secure nature of NFTs attracts many individuals in the market.

4. Ownership of Digital Assets

NFTs enable people to own and collect digital assets in the same way that they do physical goods. This makes NFTs an appealing option to a new generation of digital natives.

5. Secondary Market Potential

NFTs can be purchased and sold on secondary markets, allowing investors and collectors to gain profit from the value appreciation of unique digital commodities. This opens up a new cash stream for creators and marketers to investigate.

How are Brands Using NFTs For Marketing?

To gain the interest of prospective customers, brands are using NFTs for marketing in several ways. These include:

1. Limited-Edition NFTs

Many brands are introducing limited-edition NFTs, particularly with the intent to honor their most loyal customers. Frequently, companies associate these NFTs with special events or promotions, and they use them to grant access to unique discounts or experiences.

2. Collectibles

Companies are developing collectibles that are linked to their products or services. They can trade these collectibles on secondary markets, which provides the company with a new revenue source.

3. Social Media Campaigns

Companies are also incorporating them into social media campaigns to increase the buzz and engagement. For instance, a brand can hold a contest in which customers can win an NFT by posting their favorite product on social media.

4. Charity Auctions

Companies are using NFTs to collect funds for charities. They make limited-edition NFTs and auction them to the highest bidder, with the money benefiting a charity of their choice.

Fundamentals of Email Marketing

To fully grasp what email marketing’s endgame is, let’s cover its fundamentals:

1. Personalization is Key

The audience will subscribe and retain their membership when they find the humanistic aspect behind a brand. Speaking directly to users and personalizing automated emails is central to marketing success.

2. Engaging Without Misleading

Use engaging titles to increase email open rates but keep them within the context. Flowery headlines have a chance to mislead readers, thus impacting trust.

3. Maintaining a Crisp Tone

Email messages are short. Concise content with summarized touchpoints marks the purpose of an email.

4. Clear Call to Action (CTA)

A call to action, or CTA, is the decision you want your audience to make through email. Its hyperlinks, tone, and language should always point toward a specific purpose.

5. Consent is Absolute

Sending uninvited emails defies regulatory compliances and also interrupts users with interactions they aren’t mentally prepared for. Permitted communication boosts return on investment (ROI) by enabling consensual and quality engagement.

Why Email Marketing is Important

What is email marketing’s impact on your consumer base, and what characteristics hold its importance?

50% of the online population uses emails; it’s the most accessible medium of communication

Types of Email Marketing 1. Promotional Emails

Marketing campaigns involve promotional emails to declare product launches, special offers, new brand releases, and so on. They come with very specific CTAs, such as completing a purchase on a discounted coupon. Their frequency varies according to the changing marketing rhythm of buying trends. For instance, a Black Friday sale will demand three promotional emails on a single day.

2. Informational Emails

What is email marketing when it comes to sharing information? There are specific types for that too, and they come in the form of informational emails—newsletters, and announcements.

Newsletters add value to the customer base with direct interaction on topics that interest your subscribers. Some companies focus more on personalization than on the content of newsletters.

On the other hand, major company changes, product launches, emergency logistical crises, and communication errors are best declared through announcement emails.

3. Re-Engagement Emails

Marketing emails can also re-engage with potential customers who didn’t have a pleasant experience with the website or haven’t been active lately.

Pros and Cons of Email Marketing Campaigns Pros

Every email has a specific objective, allowing you to achieve more control over the medium

With prescient market analytics and consumer research, one-on-one mails promise hyper-personalized campaigns

With the strategic use of email marketing tools, you can optimize marketing resources without compromising on quality

Cons

Without a great strategy, the chances of marketing emails remaining unread until their lifetime is high

It is difficult to build a steady base of subscribers as major email services use spam filters for frequently unopened emails

Standing out with your emails amid a lot of compliance rules and competition can be quite challenging

How to do Email Marketing

Understanding what email marketing’s role in optimizing ad campaigns requires a holistic approach to the process. Here’s how you can write remarkable emails:

Step 1: Audience Segmentation

Sift through the existing mailing lists to identify active consumers, regular website viewers, and inactive users, and formulate hyper-targeted email copies accordingly.

Step 2: Subject Line

A perfect email subject line has the following elements: clear statement of intent, personalizing, solution-driven, subject-specific keywords, and active voice.

Step 3: Focus on the Preview Text

Preview texts are a pitch for your marketing message. Try to make it as engaging, crisp, and personal as possible so that it reinforces your brand value.

Step 4: Lucid Read and Storytelling

Bullet points, short sentences, and the storytelling model of ‘attention-desire-action’ best draw customer interests.

Step 5: Psychological Triggers

Psychological triggers such as warnings about missing out on offers are crucial for email campaigns because even under the same market segment, different individuals respond differently.

How to Build an Email Marketing List

Let’s find out what is the email marketing list’s significance and how to build it from scratch:

A strong purpose:

Ensure you have a clearly defined reason to ask for email addresses. Free downloadable assets, relevant product updates, and contest participation are some of the tricks that marketers use to lure subscribers.

Consistent, personalized content:

Email marketing increases your follower base with personalized content, a strong CTA, and follow-up tactics.

Strategic emails:

Setting up introductory emails, knowing the correct time to pitch for sales, etc, will help you better navigate customer interests.

Having a long list increases your costs:

It is important to fill up the lists with quality contacts and improve the efficiency of campaigns, ensuring a curtail of marketing costs.

With No ‘Plan’et B, Here’s Why Sustainability In Business Is Important

blog / Business Management With No ‘Plan’et B, Here’s Why Sustainability in Business is Important

Share link

Captain Planet, America’s environmentalist superhero from the early 90’s was way ahead of his time. The series focused on taking on the “eco-villains” wreaking havoc on the planet and sacrificing sustainability for profits. In the real world, the rate at which climate change is growing mirrors the fact that we haven’t been able to safeguard the planet. With no Captain Planet to save us and no ‘Plan’et B we can escape to, sustainability business has become the buzzword we should all care about.

Quick fact check

Fact #1: Global temperatures are likely to rise 1.5 degrees Celsius within the next two decades (Source)

Fact #2: Just about 100 companies have been the source of more than 70% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions since 1988 (Source)

This is the kind of powerful impact that industries and businesses are creating on the global environment.

What is sustainability in business?

Ever heard of terms like blue economy, green financing, carbon neutrality and biomimicry? To put it simply, a sustainable business is one that owns up to its environmental and social responsibilities through its goals, operations, products and services. Sustainability revolves around three core principles, the 3 P’s – Profit, People, and the Planet.

A business’s sustainability is perceived by analysing how a given enterprise functions in the ecological, social and economic environment. The goal is to minimize the exhaustion of natural resources and preserve it for future generations. There are various means to go green. From minimizing waste, reducing pollution, transitioning to renewable energy to preserving water, using sustainable materials, and more.

Why is sustainability important for businesses?

A great example of a business that has successfully implemented sustainable CSR strategies is Lego, a popular toy brand. Lego ranks at No.1 for CSR as a result of its conscious decision to make Legos from plant-based sources. The brand followed through its promise by manufacturing products from leaves and sugarcane. This Danish toy company aims to use sustainable materials for all of its main products and packaging by 2030. As a consequence, the brand’s reputation has risen steeply.

Making the switch to a circular economy

Today global conversations revolve around the phrase: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. This is the core principle used to create a circular economy which in turn is a key CSR strategy for sustainable development. Unlike the standard linear economy that involves using raw materials, creating products and throwing the resulting waste; a circular economy seeks to reuse that waste. By promoting the use of renewable raw materials and reusing resources, businesses generate a much lower volume of waste. This in turn helps to lower negative effects of climate change, carbonization and much more. A circular economy provides innovative ways to create a more sustainable economic growth model across the globe.

Watch and learn how a circular economy contributes to sustainability

Keeping in line with changing trends, Emeritus has collaborated with Cambridge Judge Business School Executive Education to offer a dynamic programme that’s designed to help you develop the vocabulary and vision on how to build a business culture of sustainability, fundamentals of a circular economy and lots more.

How to develop a sustainable mindset

While there is no single way to implement sustainability, corporations can design innovative strategies through creative business planning. The versatility of going green means that industries or enterprises can choose from different means to create sustainable solutions in four distinct areas: human, social, economic and environmental. A great way to start is to provide appropriate labelled recycling bins at workplaces and adopt compost programs.

Switching to green travel policies is another great choice. It would mean encouraging employees to choose eco-friendly options of travel such as public transport, carpooling and choosing electric bikes or scooters. Green commuting can help to cut down on daily emissions and contribute to sustainability. Remote work options and video conferencing are some other alternatives. Transitioning to digital by switching to computers, smartphones, and other devices instead of paper is another excellent way to inculcate a sustainable culture or work.

Sustainable businesses that inspire us by going ‘green’

1.

Occidental Petroleum

: Decarbonizing for a green future

In an attempt to decarbonize their operations and value chains, Occidental Petroleum, one of the largest international oil companies in the United States partnered with Canadian start-up Carbon Engineering to build a plant that will capture and bury 500,000 metric tons of CO₂ each year.

2.

Patagonia:

Energizing the future with solar power

In 2023, CEO Rose Marcario of Patagonia; a sustainable sports clothing brand announced that they would be completely CO2 neutral by 2025. By harnessing the power of solar energy, the brand plans to develop a fully sustainable production cycle. Additionally, they would comply with strict standards in production and raw materials.

3.

Tony’s Chocolonely:

 Beating the heat

Winner of the Sustainable Brand Index 2023, Dutch company, Tony’s Chocolonely focuses on making the cocoa industry fair trade and free from slave work. They do not use palm oil in production and are implementing various strategies to offset and minimize climate change emissions. Moreover, to create a positive social impact, they are collaborating with Justdiggit, a non-profit organisation, to measure their climate impact and stay accountable.

4.

 Minimizing the Carbon Footprint

One of the largest renewable energy developers, it is one of the world’s most sustainable energy firms. The company has set a target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2025.  Having moved from using fossil fuels to renewable energy for their operations, this company sets an example on how enterprises can adapt a sustainable model.

5.

Kering:

Transforming Fashion by Going Green

Luxury and sustainability are the same to Kering, parent corporation for luxury brands such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Ulysse Nardin, and Pomellato. The company has centralized all its operations around its social and environmental strategies. Moreover, Kering has developed an innovative tool for measuring and quantifying the environmental impact of its activities.

How can senior managers and C-suite professionals help make an impact?

One of the main success factors for sustainable development of a company is the initiative and vision of its top management. That is to say, experienced leadership can go far in nudging their businesses into a greener model. There are plenty of examples of how businesses have become profitable while meeting sustainability goals.

They are integrating sustainability in core strategies and setting corporate performance measures. The 2023 Report of the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate concluded that by the year 2030 — 12 years hence — the amount of money humanity could save through a global shift to sustainable development is $26 trillion.

What Is A Tripod Bubble Level And Why It’s Useful

What Is A Tripod Bubble Level?

One of the first rules of photography is to keep your horizons straight. The main reason being that if your photo is a little crooked, it can be super distracting. Especially when you hang a print on your wall, a crooked horizon will really ruin it. Unfortunately, most of us aren’t very good at “eyeballing” the tripod and calling it level. That’s why tripod bubble levels were created and are a powerful tool for photographers to use.

A tripod bubble level is a leveling device used to show how straight a tripod is standing. By aligning the bubble to the center, you can guarantee the tripod head is sitting perpendicular to the ground. This helps to ensure your tripod is well balanced and makes the horizon lines in your photos appear straight.

There’s a lot more to bubble levels than meets the eye. Continue below to learn the different types of tripod levels and how to use them to get perfectly straight photos with ease.

What Are Tripod Bubble Levels Used For?

A tripod bubble level is the only way to know that your tripod is securely set up when working on uneven terrain. Not every photo you take will be on a nice smooth concrete surface. You’ll find yourself shooting on rolling terrain or rocky hillsides more often than not, especially if you’re a landscape photographer!

Whatever the case, just eyeballing the level of your tripod isn’t a great idea. If your tripod ends up leaning one way or another, it’s far more likely to tip over. To guarantee your tripod and camera are set up securely, the tripod bubble level will give you an accurate answer.

Tripod bubble levels work the same as a regular bubble level you might have used for construction purposes. As the angle of the level changes, the bubble inside moves accordingly. In the case of a tripod level, the main bubble level usually sits at the tripod’s base. With a little bit of fine-tuning of the tripod legs, you can perfect your tripod’s level in a matter of seconds.

Types Of Tripod Bubble Levels

Depending on the tripod you have, there are likely multiple bubble levels you’ll see. Let’s go over what each of them is and why they’re useful.

– The Base Level

Your tripod is broken down into two separate parts called the base and the head. The base only consists of the tripod legs and the center post. This part is what supports the weight of your camera and is the main section you need to adjust when leveling. At the top of the base where the legs converge, there is usually a small circular bubble level on the tripod. Typically in a highlighter color, this level helps to ensure the center post of the tripod sits at a 90º angle (straight up) from the ground.

Besides making it easier to align your camera, a well-leveled base distributes the camera’s weight equally to all legs. Rather than favoring one leg of another, this makes the entire tripod way more secure.

– The Head Level

The second part of your tripod is the head. This is the section that your camera actually attaches to and how you adjust your photos’ composition.

Your tripod head is the second place that you’ll likely see a bubble level. For most photography tripods, there will be two different levels on the head. One for horizontal leveling and one for vertical. That way, no matter if you want to shoot in a portrait or landscape orientation, there’s an accurate bubble level to look at.

As you adjust the head’s position, you can look at the head bubble level to see how straight your camera is. Ideally, you want the bubble to be perfectly centered to ensure a straight horizon!

– The Base Plate Level

Now with some tripods, there isn’t a level directly on the tripod head, but instead, on the base plate. The base plate is the small metal or plastic mount that screws into the bottom of your camera and attaches to the tripod head. Although the tripod bubble level is in a slightly different location, it still operates the same as the other types. Just like before, if the bubble level is centered, you know that your photo will look perfectly straight!

What Bubble Level To Adjust First

With you’re looking at up to three different bubble levels on your tripod, it doesn’t take much to make your brain spin. Right when one level looks good, the other two are miles off. Without following the right sequence of steps, you might have a challenging time finding the right level.

First, you need to start with the base. Just like a house, without a solid base to stand on, your tripods going to look a little wobbly. After deciding on a spot to set up your tripod, adjust the legs to bring your base’s bubble level to center. This may take a bit of finagling to get right, but it’s worth the effort. With your bubble perfectly set inside the circle, the next step becomes extremely easy.

Now attach your camera to the tripod head and find the right framing before you work on leveling. After all, what’s the point of leveling if you aren’t happy with the shot you’ve set up for!

Once you’ve found the composition you like, adjust the head until the bubble is level. Depending on whether you’re set up for a portrait or landscape photo, you might need to look at different leveling bubbles on the tripod head.

With a quick couple of steps, you’ve successfully learned how to use a tripod bubble level to take perfectly straight photos!

What To Do If You Don’t Have One

Depending on the type of tripod you have, there might not be a bubble level on the tripod. In this case, it’s a bit harder to level your tripod perfectly. However, that’s not to say it’s impossible!

There are a few different ways you can get a bubble level for your tripod if it doesn’t already have one. The first option is a level that mounts directly to your camera, and the other sits on your tripod.

The hot shoe bubble is one that works the same as a tripod head level by helping you to keep straight horizons. In this case, the levels come in a small cube that mounts to the top of your camera. They’re extremely small and easy to pack around in your bag. Rather than forking over hundreds of dollars for a new tripod head, you can get a hot shoe bubble level for a few dollars on amazon.

The other option you have is a tripod bubble level for the base of your tripod. Now, if you’re like me, you probably don’t want to stick or screw a small level onto your tripod permanently. Luckily there are small leveling disks that seamlessly fit between your tripods base and the head. By fitting itself around the 3/8 screw that your head mounts to, it stays secure by the tripod head. It’s designed to sit just wider than the head and has a small bubble level sticking out.

This is my favorite way to add a bubble level to a tripod since it doesn’t permanently change the tripod in any way!

Having both a base and head level is an important part of having a stable tripod. By keeping all your bubble levels perfectly balanced, you’ll never have to worry about crooked photos again. What a relief!
