Whether you’re using Google Search at work or at home, SafeSearch can help you filter out sexually explicit content from your results. It is switched-on by default for children when they’re signed-in to Google, but turned off for adult users. Today, we will show you how to enable Google SafeSearch for everyone on computers and smartphones. We will not only tell you how to enable or disable Google SafeSearch on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS, but also how to lock it for any device on your network.

How to Enable or Disable Google SafeSearch

Google SafeSearch is an important feature for computers at school and at work, but can sometimes be an irritant otherwise. So in this article, we will show you how to enable or disable Google SafeSearch on any desktop or mobile platform. We will learn about what is Google SafeSearch and how to turn it on or off on the web through your browser and in mobile apps on Android and iOS. So without further ado, let’s learn more about Google SafeSearch and check out how to enable or disable Google SafeSearch right now.

What is Google SafeSearch?

SafeSearch was designed by Google as an automated filter for sexually explicit content that can be awkward if they show up unexpectedly. It is also designed to keep children safe from potentially harmful content at school and at home. Applicable to Google Search and Google Image Search, SafeSearch helps filter out explicit content in Google’s search results for all your queries across images, videos and websites.

Either way, here’s how you can enable or disable Google SafeSearch on all your computers and smartphones:

Turn Google SafeSearch On or Off Via Web Browser

You can turn on SafeSearch with or without logging in to your Google account. However, when you’re not signed-in, your settings will be lost once you clear your browsing history. On a private or incognito tab, it will be lost the moment you close the tab/window. The process is identical on Windows, Mac and Linux.

Note: You can also go directly to chúng tôi to set your SafeSearch preference.

Lock Google SafeSearch Using Hosts File on Windows, Mac and Linux

Desktop operating systems, like Windows, Mac and Linux, have a ‘hosts’ file that maps hostnames to IP addresses. You can use it to force Google to ‘lock’ SafeSearch on that device, thereby making it always use the feature on all browsers all the time. The setting will apply to all general search, image search, and video search results on Google. Only users with administrative privileges on the device can undo this change. Here’s how you can lock SafeSearch on your computer using the hosts file:

Note: You need Admin privileges to be able to make changes to the hosts file.

Now we’ll have to open the ‘hosts’ file. For that, copy+paste C:WindowsSystem32driversetchosts in the PowerShell console in Admin mode . Hit Enter.

You will be asked to choose a program to open the file. Select ‘Notepad’ and hit ‘OK’.

On Mac and Linux

The process to lock Google SafeSearch is fairly similar on all desktop platforms, but with a slight difference. Here’s how you do it on Mac and Linux:

Open Terminal and execute the following Terminal command: ping chúng tôi Note down the IPV4 address. It will look something like:

Now enter the command sudo nano /private/etc/hosts on Mac or sudo nano /etc/hosts on Linux and hit enter. Enter your admin password when you see the prompt.

Finally, go over to Google to check that the setting is working and cannot be tampered with.

Enable or Disable Google SafeSearch on Android

Open the Google app on your iPhone or Android device. Now tap on ‘More’ (three dots) at the bottom right and select ‘Settings’ on the next page.

On the Settings page, tap on ‘General’. On the next page, scroll down if you have to and switch SafeSearch on or off using the toggle.

That’s it. You’ve now successfully turned on Google SafeSearch in your Android phone.

Enable or Disable Google SafeSearch on iOS

On the Search settings page, find the ‘SafeSearch filters’ section. You can now choose to hide or show explicit result using the appropriate option.

Make Internet Safer for Children with Google SafeSearch

Google SafeSearch is an important feature that can not only keep children safe online, but also save you the blushes by preventing inappropriate results from popping-up for completely innocent searches. However, it can also prevent important content from appearing in search results because of algorithmic quirks and automatic filtering. Now that you know how to turn it on or off across all platforms, go ahead and do it on your computer or mobile. Once you do, remember to let us know why you felt the need to change Google SafeSearch setting on your devices.

How To Enable Or Disable Microsoft Rewards In Edge Browser

Microsoft Rewards, previously known as Bing Rewards is a rewards program where you can earn and collect points and redeem them for Amazon gift cards, free movie tickets, or discount vouchers on your favorite brand. You can even use the points to donate to a charity.

You earn points using Microsoft services like Bing search, browsing the web on Microsoft Edge, answering quizzes, playing games on Xbox, or shopping for products from the Microsoft Store.

Sign up for free, all you need is a Microsoft account.

You get to earn points for just browsing the web or using Microsoft services.

Redeem points for discount coupons, movie tickets, vouchers, and gift cards.

Use reward points to donate to your preferred charity.

The Rewards program has been integrated into the Edge browser. This lets users keep tabs on their earned points right from the browser itself. It also allows you to earn points for using the Edge browser. Here is how you can enable or disable Microsoft Rewards on your Edge browser.

To use Microsoft rewards, you need to be signed in to the Edge browser. Those already signed in can skip this process.

Step 2: Go to Settings.

Step 3: Select Profiles from the sidebar.

Step 5: Sign in with a Microsoft Account. You can even use a Gmail account to sign up.

Once you have signed in to your browser, you will be able to enable and use Microsoft Rewards. Here is how you can enable it:

Step 3: Select the Profiles option from the sidebar.

Step 5: Turn on the toggle for Earn Microsoft Rewards in Microsoft Edge.

After the restart, you should see a Rewards icon in the Edge toolbar.

You can use it to check your earned points and find activities to earn more points.

Some people who just want to focus on productivity or prefer a simple browsing experience might find Microsoft Rewards to be an annoying addition. If that is the case for you then you can easily disable it within settings.

Step 2: Open Settings.

Step 3: Go to Profiles.

Step 4: Select Microsoft Rewards.

This will get rid of the Microsoft Rewards icon from the Edge toolbar and you can continue enjoying the browser without any clutter.

Microsoft Edge is a lightweight web browser with a variety of useful features under its belt. Here is a list of features of Microsoft Edge:

Support for all Chrome extensions.

Install websites as Apps.

Read aloud webpages.

PDF reader.

Ability to capture scrolling screenshots with the Web Capture tool.

Put inactive tabs to sleep to save system resources.

Select a Non-ISP DNS provider.

Built-in privacy tools.

Create website collections.

Follow and receive updates from your favorite creators.

Earn rewards with Microsoft rewards.

Change tab layout to vertical.

Create website collections.

Microsoft Edge and Brave are both Chromium-based web browsers that offer their rewards program so it is reasonable to question how are they different from each other. Here are some key differences:

Volatile Reward System

This is not the case with Microsoft Reward points as they can only be used to redeem other rewards from Microsoft Store like discount vouchers, gift cards, etc. This removes the volatility factor of the reward.

Requires a verified Wallet to Redeem Rewards

To redeem your Brave Rewards you need to sign up for a verified wallet, submit KYC documents and then link the wallet with Brave. only then you will be able to sync your BAT tokens across devices and withdraw them.

On the other hand, Microsoft Reward points can be easily redeemed from the Microsoft Store and only requires you to sign in with your existing Microsoft accounts to sync your points across different devices and platforms.

Multiple Ways To Earn

Microsoft Rewards also incentivizes you to use their services and products to earn more points but you can also answer quizzes and perform other tasks to get as many points as possible.

Yes. If you do not earn points for 18 months then all your previously unredeemed points will expire. So if you stop using Edge for 18 months and do not redeem your points then they will expire.

Microsoft Reward not only rewards their already loyal user base but also incentivizes new users to continue using the Edge browser. The setup process is simple and rewards are lucrative which will attract new users. We hope Microsoft adds more rewards later and also includes more options to earn points. If you have any questions regarding Microsoft Rewards on Edge then do let us know and stay tuned on BrowsersToUse for more such articles and How-Tos.

You must have found this guide because you stumbled upon the chúng tôi file on your computer.

Many files, processes, and services are running on Windows, and many are wondering how many processes should be running on Windows. However, we answered that in a separate guide.

Today, we’ll focus solely on the file at hand, so let’s get started.

What is mDNSResponder on Windows?

The Windows process called chúng tôi is used to carry out the Multicast Domain Name Service (mDNS) protocol. Devices on a local network may find each other and accessible services using the networking protocol, requiring zero setups.

Also, it often concerns Bonjour, Apple’s version of mDNS that makes it simple to set up networks and find services across various devices. If you ever want to know what is the Bonjour service, we have a special guide that will answer all your questions.

Is chúng tôi a virus?

mDNSResponder.exe is not a virus, to be precise. It is an authorized procedure connected to the Multicast DNS (mDNS) protocol.

However, it’s essential to remember that certain malware and viruses may try to blend in by using a name or location for their files similar to chúng tôi This can make it challenging to distinguish between a genuine process and one that might be malicious.

We always recommend running scans with an efficient antivirus software to clear any doubts.

What applications require mDNS?

iTunes – iTunes searches the network for AirPlay-capable devices using mDNS. This enables you to wirelessly broadcast audio and video content from your computer to AirPlay-compatible speakers, TVs, and receivers.

AirPort – To find other AirPort devices on the network, AirPort utilizes mDNS. This simplifies setting up a wireless network and sharing resources like files and printers.

Bonjour – mDNS is a technology that Bonjour employs to find devices and services on a network. As a result, connecting to printers, file sharing, and other devices is simple and doesn’t require manual configuration.

Printer sharing – On a local network, mDNS may share printers. By doing this, you may print to any printer on the network, regardless of whether it is attached to your computer.

File sharing – A local network can transfer files using mDNS. By doing this, you may access files from other networked computers without explicitly mapping their disks.

Media streaming – On a local network, media assets like music and videos can be streamed via mDNS. This enables you to watch movies or listen to music on any networked device, even one that isn’t directly linked to your computer.

Gaming – On a local network, games may be played using mDNS. By doing so, you may play games and connect to other players without manually setting up your network settings.

How do you disable mDNSResponder.exe? Use Task Manager

You may read our guide on opening the Task Manager if you run into any challenges while trying to disable the process.

Should you disable mDNSResponder.exe?

While there may be circumstances when chúng tôi needs to be disabled or is desirable, it’s important to weigh the possible effects first, which include:

While there may be scenarios where disabling chúng tôi is necessary or desired, it is crucial to consider the potential implications before doing so, which include:

Resource usage and system performance – chúng tôi typically uses very little system resources when running effectively in the background. Unless particular problems or conflicts occur, disabling it just for system performance improvement will not result in noticeable improvements.

Compatibility issues – Due to incompatibilities with other networking protocols or apps, you may think about turning off chúng tôi Before choosing to disable mDNS capabilities, it is crucial to consider how doing so may affect network connectivity and local service discovery.

There you have it; all the important details surrounding the chúng tôi file. Rather than disable chúng tôi to conserve system resources, you may choose to disable some other background processes.

Still experiencing troubles? Fix them with this tool:

Some driver-related issues can be solved faster by using a tailored driver solution. If you’re still having problems with your drivers, simply install OutByte Driver Updater and get it up and running immediately. Thus, let it update all drivers and fix other PC issues in no time!

How To Enable Or Disable Access Point Isolation On Windows Computers

If you want to enable or disable Access Point Isolation, Client Isolation, or Station Isolation on Windows 11/10 computers, here is how you can do that. It is a security feature that comes with various modern-day Wi-Fi routers. This guide explains AP Isolation and teaches you how you can turn it on or off.

What is Access Point Isolation?

If two devices are connected to a Wi-Fi network, they can communicate with each other by changing a few settings. It is possible because they are using the same SSID or network name. If you turn on Access Point Isolation or Client Isolation, it will start creating a virtual SSID for each device you connect to your Wi-Fi network.

The host router will be the same, but SSID will be virtual. That being said, it won’t be possible for one device to communicate with others even after using the same router. It is very handy when you do not want any device to establish a connection with another device in your office or any other public place.

AP Isolation is pretty similar to Guest mode or Guest network, which is available in almost all the routers. However, there is a thin line between these two security features. AP Isolation or Client Isolation is mainly used in the LAN, public places, etc. However, the other one is mainly intended for guests or so to whom you want to give temporary access to your Wi-Fi router.

Some routers have the Access Point Isolation while some of them call it Client Isolation. It depends on the manufacturer, firmware version, etc. However, they all are the same. Having said that, we have shown screenshots with Client Isolation on a TP-link router. Nonetheless, you can follow the same guide for your router to find the AP Isolation as well.

Enable or Disable Access Point Isolation on Router

To enable or disable Access Point Isolation, follow these steps:

Log in to your router’s control panel.

Tick the Enable Client Isolation/AP Isolation checkbox.

To learn more about these steps, continue reading.

To get started, you need to log into your Wi-Fi router’s control panel. To do that, your computer must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and you must know the username and password.

If you want to enable AP Isolation for both, you need to do that one after one. Here you can find an option called Enable Client Isolation.

As said earlier, you can find the AP Isolation or Station Isolation as well. It all depends on the router.

Should I enable or disable AP isolation?

AP Isolation is a security feature included in various Wi-Fi routers. As mentioned earlier, it prevents one device from communicating with other devices connected to the same network. If you want such a thing enabled for your network, you can turn on Access Point Isolation. However, if you are a home computer user and only your devices are connected to the network, enabling this feature won’t make much difference.

How do I disable AP isolation in Windows 11/10?

This is not a feature you can enable or disable on your Windows computer. It must be included in your Wi-Fi router. If so, you can follow the aforementioned guides to enable or disable AP Isolation or Client Isolation for your router.

That’s all! Hope this guide helped.

What Is Super Duper Secure Mode In Microsoft Edge And How To Enable It

Microsoft is experimenting with a new feature for enhanced security while browsing the internet via Edge. The browser already provides three levels of privacy protection, including Basic, Balanced, and Strict. But now, Microsoft Edge is testing a new feature called Super Duper Secure mode for even better security. You will learn everything about this feature in this article. That includes what is Super Duper Secure mode in Edge, its pros and cons, and how to enable it to test the upcoming feature right now.

Use Super Duper Secure Mode in Microsoft Edge (2024)

Edge’s Super Duper Secure mode is currently available behind a feature flag in Canary, Dev, and Beta channels. If you use Edge on any of these channels, here’s how you can try it out ahead of the general release.

What is Super Duper Secure Mode in Microsoft Edge?

Super Duper Secure Mode (SDSM) is an experimental feature in Edge to improve the browser’s security. The name of this feature is currently a little…edgy, but Microsoft says it may change the name before it ships the feature to the stable version. And of course, since this is an experimental feature, there’s a chance that SDSM may never make its way to the stable Edge build.

So, what does Super Duper Secure mode do? Before getting to that, it’s important to understand how most modern JavaScript engines work. To ensure performance, JS engines use something called Just-In-Time (JIT) Compilation. With JIT, the compilation is performed during execution time. This approach has its benefits like optimization and faster overall performance.

To improve the security of the Microsoft Edge browser, what Super Duper Secure mode does is disable JIT (TurboFan/ Sparkplug). Instead, it enables Control-flow Enforcement Technology (CET), which is Intel’s hardware-based exploit mitigation system to protect PCs against common malware.  Microsoft hopes to add Arbitrary Code Guard (ACG) and Control Flow Guard (CFG) protection in the foreseeable future. The company also has plans to bring this feature to Android and Mac versions of Edge.

If you are interested to learn the pros and cons of the feature, check the next section.

Benefits of Microsoft Edge Super Duper Secure Mode

A core benefit of using this mode is increased security. According to Microsoft, enabling the feature would remove half of the V8 bugs since it disables JIT. It also results in a decreased demand for frequent security patches and emergency patches once a critical JIT-related vulnerability is spotted in the wild.

And because JIT doesn’t work well with CET, ACG, and other mitigation tools, disabling it will also help the user have a safer experience while browsing the web. “This reduction in attack surface kills half of the bugs we see in exploits, and every remaining bug becomes more difficult to exploit. To put it another way, we lower costs for users but increase costs for attackers,” says Microsoft.

With the Super Secure mode enabled, the performance mostly remained unchanged in internal tests conducted by Microsoft. The company noticed a 15% improvement and 11% regression in power on average. The memory usage, on the other hand, had a 2.3% regression in negatively impacted tests, but on positive ones, the value stood at 4.6%. Page load times witnessed the most regression at 17% and a 9.5% improvement. Disabling JIT helped improve the startup time by 8.9%, which is a minor positive to come out of this change.

The impact on overall performance also depends on your usage patterns. To address this, Microsoft is planning to give users more control and let them configure the feature based on their needs.

Enable Super Duper Secure Mode in Microsoft Edge

Now that you know what Edge’s upcoming security mode is all about, here’s how to try it out right now. Follow the steps below to enable the SDSM Edge flag:

1. Open the Edge flags page (navigate to this address – edge://flags) and search for “Super Duper Secure Mode”. You can alternatively access the flag by pasting the following address into Edge:

2. From the dropdown menu next to the flag, choose “Enabled” and restart the Edge browser. You have now disabled JIT in Edge and can enjoy a safer browsing experience.
