Stock DividendThe distribution of Profit to Equity shareholders is known as Dividends. The dividend is of two types namely:
Cash Dividend
Stock Dividend
In simple words, the dividend which is paid in the form of equity or shares instead of Cash is known as Stock Dividend. Now the question comes why the Company pays a dividend in Equity Form. There are some reasons for distributing Stock dividends by the company. Below are the main reasons for stock dividends:
The company doesn’t have sufficient cash to pay the dividend.
To increase the Issued shares of the Company.
To give the Tax benefit to the shareholder, which means that when a dividend is paid in Cash it is Taxable as Income, but when paid in the equity shares, it will be taxable only when the shareholder sells the shares. Hence, Investors will get tax benefits.
Advantages of Stock Dividend:
Increase the Liquidity of Cash,
Increases the Liquidity of Shares in the market
Increases the investor interest in the company by giving Tax Benefits.
Stock SplitTo understand it better let’s take an example, Mr. A is holding 10000 Shares of Company XYZ Limited having a face value of Rs. 100 and market value Rs. 150. Now, company XYZ Limited declares the Stock Split in the ratio of 2 for 1 which means that for every 1 share, a shareholder will get 1 more share. In this example, Mr. A is holding 10000 Shares, after the stock split his shareholding will increase to 20000 shares. Be noted that the price of the share due to stock split will go down and no. of shares will increase.
When the Board of Directors of the company thinks that the market price of the share is overpriced. Hence, to reduce the price of share.
To increase the liquidity of shares.
Due to the reduction of Price, it allows more investors to buy the shares.

Finding Stock Images The Easy Way
Any blogger knows that scouring through Commons for the right image is a real time suck.
While it’s the cheapest way to go, it can be painfully unproductive and put you at higher risk for copyright infringement. Let’s face it. It may be time to consider subscribing to a photo agency once and for all.
In this post, I want to compare some of the better known stock image sites out there and see if we can zero in on one that excels in price, selection and user interface.
Finding The Best Stock Image SitePhoto sharing agencies have come a long way in the past few years and new ones are rising into the limelight all the time. However, in 2013, it’s hard to go wrong with any of these. Note: All prices are subscription based.
ShutterstockOne of the first companies to come to mind was New York-based Shutterstock. Their reputation precedes them as one that is on top of the stock photography game. Its founder, Jon Oringer, founded the company in 2003 by uploading 30,000 of his own images.
28 Million Photos
$6.54 per day
Excellent UI
FotoliaFounded in 2005 in New York City, Fotolia offers a tremendous variety of high quality, royalty-free images, vectors and videos. Fotolia pretty much has it all.
23 Million Photos

123RF123RF are the new kids on the block. They are based in Hong Kong and have one of the most exciting site designs in the industry. They offer a competitive price for access to their royalty-free stock images, and they make finding the right image really easy.
21 Million Photos
$5.37 per day
Royalty-free exclusive
DreamstimeSince it’s inception in 2000, Dreamstime has grown to be a major player in the microstock market. In 2005, Microsoft came along and wanted to buy them out. Dreamstime declined that offer. They boast the lowest subscription price of any of the big players. Cool company.
18 Million Photos
$4.82 per day
Inexpensive
Thinkstock by Getty ImagesGetty Images, a stock photography powerhouse in Seattle, was the first company to begin licencing images and have continued to shape and drive the industry forward since it was founded in 1995. Some of the world’s most influential media look to Getty for their premium images, footage and music. Their most affordable plan is with Thinkstock, a sister company.
“Millions” of Photos
$6.83 per day via Thinkstock
Access to Getty Images
Stealing Images Is Copyright Infringement
Signing up with one of these business allows you to work with photographers and not against them.
Congress recently heard pleas by leaders in the digital media sharing industry for stronger copyright protections.
One of the leaders, senior VP of Getty Images John Lapham, said his photo sharing company faces challenges with copyright infringement. He also said that Getty Images has technology that allows them to pursue pirated content [source].
It’s no secret that Getty sues companies and some individuals for copyright infringement. It’s public record. Paying proper attribution to original authors is not only the right thing to do, it may save you and your company from getting embroiled by litigation.
In Summary: Two Choices
The cheap and hard way, in which you scour the scant commons for free stock photos without ever finding that perfect picture. You’re also subject to certain restrictions.
The paid and easy way, in which you have access to millions of quality images that depict exactly what you mean. You work with photo agencies, not against them.
For their awesome selection, competitive price and ability to help you get your job done the easy way, I tip my hat to Shutterstock.
Brains Behind Hakia Introduce Sensenews Stock Indicator
This morning we received news from SENSEnews announcing a revolutionary tool from the minds that brought the web hakia semantic search. Dr. Riza Berkan, one of the world’s most imminent semantic language technology gurus, and a team of co-founders, have apparently cracked a new stock market analytical methodology. Powered by hakia search technology, Berkan and his team may have just opened new avenues for market analysis – a Pandora’s Box of stock market metrics tricks.
Sense and SensibilitySENSEnews is the brainchild of Berkan, the late imminent economist Dr. Pentti Kouri, and Prof. Onur Ozgur of the University of Montreal. The reader may recall Dr. Berkan from the so called “search engine wars” where semantic, or natural language search, threatened to upend Google’s virtual monopoly in the market.
Now Berkan’s launch of this new proprietary search/analysis tool, proves at least two things. First, Dr. Berkan and the folks at hakia have never stopped pursuing the perfect intelligent search technology. Secondly, there are far more applications of semantic technology than looking up a car dealer or YouTube video.
The details of hakia always revolved around a fantastically complicated way of indexing data. What was then termed QDEXing, or the filtering of massive data stacks by the superior methodology of Berkan & Co’s artificial intelligence, has now been applied to niche targeted practical applications. In the case of SENSEnews, using an artificial intellect to extrapolate patterns and trends etc. While this all sounds far out and complex, the end result is fairly simple – New and accurate market intelligences.
Using hakia’s semantic search technology, the SENSEnews analysis tool:
Searches all relevant news and social media postings for a stock, basically in real time
Calculates the stock’s implied valuation relative to its current price
Suggests how much of that stock should be bought or sold
Determines if the stock is a “high news risk” stock or not
Further suggests what stocks make up the best portfolio today,
And reveals which news items are driving its analysis (news risk) and recommendations
So Fantastic It Has To Be TrueI know you are already thinking; “If this works…” Well, you supposed correctly. Dr. Berkan added this realistic note to an otherwise almost unbelievable bit of news:
“No human can track, aggregate and analyze massive amounts of emerging information continuously in the way SENSEnews does. SENSEnews empowers investors to be one step ahead in valuing equities before the market adjusts prices to that information.”
What Berkan is alluding to is this very powerful data aggregator and analysis added to the arsenal big time investors already have at their disposal. Not to “sell” Riza’s product for him, but consider a scenario where other factors indicate a stock or series of stocks will head North or South. Let’s face it, news powers the market to a large degree. With up-to-the-hour accurate trending, users of SENSEnews can “tip the decision balance” – thereby increasing their odds of being correct.
Never Say NeverI was first introduced to Riza Berkan 4 years ago when semantic search was all in the news every week. Many of us were deeply involved in the development of new search technologies. When the “search wars” seemingly ended once Powerset sold to Microsoft, the buzz about AI and natural language search obviously died down.
Berkan, who I always considered a friend, apparently dove headlong into the scientific rabbit hole of working out real AI, while the Powerset crew just basked in the artifificial light of MS’s Bing ever being truly semantic. At least this is my view. Bing is nothing more than a different way of organizing, Google already has as much “semantic” relevance as any, but now hakia appears to be doing something neither of the others is – applying these technologies to special cases – and in so doing, perhaps gaining significant “localized” value.
Put simply, using hakia to predict how stocks will changed based on news (and this is what it seems Berkan is up to) is like using a sledge hammer to persuade and ant (and a mighty job that could do). At least this is the potential. I for one hope hakia and Berkan have made this work. Now if someone would just front me the $183 per month it costs so I could test it.

Reboot phone and PC and then try again.
Load the firmware file (extracted in Step 2) into Odin as instructed below:
Now in the Option section of Odin, make sure that Re-Partition box is unchecked. (Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes remain checked, while all other boxes remain unchecked.)

How To Restore Galaxy Camera To Stock Firmware
The Galaxy Camera has been launched recently, and the Android development community has already been able to root it, and will no doubt be coming up with custom ROMs and other hacks for the device, extending its functionality and maybe camera capabilities further.
But in all the time one spends tinkering around on the device, there is often a necessity to restore back to stock firmware if something messes up the device, or if someone simply wants to go back to stock in order to claim warranty or get rid of any hacks they may have applied, which is why we’ve made a simple guide that will help you flash back to a stock firmware on your Galaxy Camera if the need arises.
There’s a firmware for every country and region, so just follow the guide below and you’ll have a fully restored and working Galaxy Camera in no time.
Compatibility
The procedure described below is only for the Samsung Galaxy Camera, model number EK-GC100. Do not try it on any other device, not even on another model of the same device.
Warning!
The methods and procedures discussed here are considered risky, so try them out at your own risk, and make sure to read each step carefully before attempting anything. We will not be held responsible if anything goes wrong.
How to Restore Galaxy Camera to Stock Firmware
Extract the file downloaded in step 3 on the computer to obtain a file with a .tar.md5 extension. The file name may also end at .tar, which is normal. This is the actual firmware file that we need to flash on the camera.
Extract the contents of the Odin3_v3.04.zip file to a folder on your computer.
Turn off the camera and wait for it to shut down completely.
Then, hold down the Volume Down + Camera + Power buttons together till the screen turns on to boot into download mode. If you get a Warning! screen instead, press theVolume Up button to boot into download mode.
Connect the camera to PC now. You should get the message “Added !!” under Odin’s message box in the bottom left.
If you don’t get this message, make sure you installed drivers correctly (using Kies or directly) as given in step 2. If it still doesn’t work, try changing to another USB port on the computer and also use the USB ports on the back if you have a desktop PC.
Important! Do not make any other changes in Odin except selecting the required files as given in step 11. Leave all other options as they are. Make sure Re-Partition check box is not selected.
What do if Odin gets stuck or doesn’t do anything: If ODIN gets stuck on setup connection or at any stage of this process after you’ve hit the Start button, and doesn’t seem to be doing anything, or if upon completion of the process you get a FAIL message (with red background) in ODIN, do this: disconnect the camera from the PC, close ODIN, remove battery for 4-5 seconds, re-insert it, turn camera on in Download mode again, and do the procedure again from Step 9.
[Important] What to do if the camera doesn’t boot: After you get the PASS message and the camera reboots, the camera might get stuck at the booting animation. If that happens, perform the following steps to make it boot. Remember that these steps will wipe your personal data like contacts, apps, messages, etc. If your canera has already booted, you can stop reading the guide here, your camera has been restored successfully:
Boot to recovery mode — for which, first power off camera (by removing battery and reinserting it), wait for 5-6 seconds, and then press and hold Volume Up + Camera + Power keys together till the screen turns on, then let them go to boot into recovery. Once you are in recovery mode, use volume keys to move the selection up and down and camera key to select the option.
Go to Wipe data/Factory Reset and select it. Select Yes on next screen.
Then, select reboot system now to reboot the camera, which will now boot properly.
If you run into any roadblocks while flashing the firmware, let us know and we’ll help you out.
Your Galaxy Camera has now been restored to stock firmware, and any changes you might have made such as rooting have now been reset.
