Suggested January 2024 Mit’s Mini Cheetah Robot Can Frolic, Fall, Flip And Play Soccer
Biomimetics Robotics Department of MIT has recently conducted a group demonstration of its new ‘mini cheetah’ robot which displayed an adorable and impressive current state of robotics technology in action. Its production marks the commencement of innovative robot-machines production having ability of multitasking.
About Mini Cheetah RobotMIT’s new robot is springy and light on its feet. It possesses a range of motion that can give a tough fight to champion gymnasts. It is a four-legged powerful machine that can bend and swing its legs wide to walk with right-side up or upside down. It can also trot over uneven terrain two times faster than an average person’s walking speed. It weighs around 20 pounds and when kicked to the ground, it can quickly right itself with a swift, kung-fu-like swing of its elbows. The most special quality of Mini Cheetah is its ability to perform a 360-degree backflip from standing position. According to the researchers, the machine is designed to be virtually indestructible having the capability to recover from little damage even if backflips end in failure. The modularity in the design of the robot prevents it even if a limb or a motor breaks. Both the legs of the robot are powered by three identical, low-cost electric motors that have been engineered using off-the-shelf parts by MIT researchers. Therefore, each motor can easily be replaced for a new one.
Expert’s QuoteAccording to the lead developer, Benjamin Katz who is a technical associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, MIT, people can put these parts together, almost like Legos. Katz further added that “a big part of why we built this robot is that it makes it so easy to experiment and just try crazy things, because the robot is super robust and doesn’t break easily, and if it does break, it’s easy and not very expensive to fix.”
Trials and ExperimentsMini Cheetah has been through a number of maneuvers. It was first tested for its running ability through the hallways of Pappalardo Lab, MIT and along the ground of Killian Court which is slightly uneven. The team of researchers at MIT, wrote another code to instruct the robot to stretch and twist in the various yoga-like configuration. This showcased its range of motion and ability to rotate its limbs and joints while maintaining balance. It has also been programmed to recover from the unexpected force. For instance, when researchers kicked Mini Cheetah to the ground it automatically shut down. In its recent demonstration, school students were seen coordinating the actions of 9 of the dog-sized robots running through a range of activities. These activities included coordinated movements, doing flips, springing in slow motion from under piles of fall leaves, and even playing soccer.
ConclusionNotably, the mini cheetah is an improvised version of the Cheetah 3 which is much larger and more expensive to produce as a robot. Cheetah 3 is heavy-weighted on its feet, and not quite so customizable. Therefore, the mini cheetah was designed with an ability to run at a speed of up to 5 miles per hour.

They are now working with other teams at MIT to loan them out for additional research and work.

Google Is Testing A New Robot That Can Program Itself
Writing working code can be a challenge. Even relatively easy languages like HTML require the coder to understand the specific syntax and available tools. Writing code to control robots is even more involved and often has multiple steps: There’s code to detect objects, code to trigger the actuators that move the robot’s limbs, code to specify when the task is complete, and so on. Something as simple as programming a robot to pick up a yellow block instead of a red one is impossible if you don’t know the coding language the robot runs on.
But Google’s robotics researchers are exploring a way to fix that. They’ve developed a robot that can write its own programming code based on natural language instructions. Instead of having to dive into a robot’s configuration files to change block_target_color from #FF0000 to #FFFF00, you could just type “pick up the yellow block” and the robot would do the rest.
Google AI
To get CaP to write new code for specific tasks, the team provided it with “hints,” like what APIs or tools were available to it, and a few instructions-to-code paired examples. From that, it was able to write new code for new instructions. It does this using “hierarchical code generation” which prompts it to “recursively define new functions, accumulate their own libraries over time, and self-architect a dynamic codebase.” This means that given one set of instructions once, it can develop some code that it can then repurpose for similar instructions later on.
[Related: Google’s AI has a long way to go before writing the next great novel]
CaP can also use the arithmetic operations and logic of specific languages. For example, a model trained on Python can use the appropriate if/else and for/while loops when needed, and use third-party libraries for additional functionality. It can also turn ambiguous descriptions like “faster” and “to the left” into the precise numerical values necessary to perform the task. And because CaP is built on top of a regular language model, it has a few features unrelated to code—like understanding emojis and non-English languages.
For now, CaP is still very much limited in what it can do. It relies on the language model it is based on to provide context to its instructions. If they don’t make sense or use parameters it doesn’t support, it can’t write code. Similarly, it apparently can only manage a handful of parameters in a single prompt; more complex sequences of actions that require dozens of parameters just aren’t possible. There are also safety concerns: Programming a robot to write its own code is a bit like Skynet. If it thinks the best way to achieve a task is to spin around really fast with its arm extended and there is a human nearby, somebody could get hurt.
Still, it’s incredibly exciting research. With robots, one of the hardest tasks is generalizing their trained behaviors. Programming a robot to play ping-pong, doesn’t make it capable of playing other games like baseball or tennis. Although CaP is still miles away from such broad real world applications, it does allow a robot to perform a wide range of complex robot tasks without task-specific training. That’s a big step in the direction of one day being able to teach a robot that can play one game how to play another—without having to break everything down to new human-written code.
Trifo Lucy: The Ai Robot Vacuum And Mop
On our quest to find the best robot vacuum and mop, we’ve come across the Lucy AI robot vacuum by Trifo. This smart robot vacuum cleaner comes with a mop function and is also equipped with an AI camera that can keep an eye on your home while you’re away, essentially doubling Lucy as a home security device.

Table of Contents
Trifo Lucy: First Impressions & SpecsThere are plenty of robot vacuums on the market right now. If you have never used one of these gadgets before, you might find it difficult to pick the best one for you, as most of them seem to offer all the same features. Sometimes it’s difficult to choose between the different models of robot vacuums that one brand offers. Trifo has a different approach: this brand offers a selection of robot vacuums, with each of them serving a specific purpose.
Lucy by Trifo also comes with a mopping feature, but it’s hard to call this model the best robot mop due to the small water tank that you have to top up during cleaning sessions. We’ll get more into this later. But first, here’s a complete list of specs of the Trifo Lucy robot vacuum.

Lucy has an impressive set of specifications, packing both the features that you meet on most modern robot vacuums, as well as unique abilities like the Visual SLAM navigation system that turns Lucy into a security camera.
Design & UnpackingTrifo Lucy follows the same proven design of a robot vacuum that all of the brands have been using up to this day: it has a circular plastic case, three wheels, a main rolling brush, and a side brush. In the case of Lucy, the entire body of the robovac is black (glossy top with matte sides) and a golden ring with two buttons and a logo in the center. One button sends Lucy to the charging dock, and the other is the power button.
One problem with Trifo Lucy being black and glossy is that it easily collects dust and any pet hair on your floor. However, the black and gold color scheme gives it a premium look.
The top of the robovac is also plastic. You can open the lid to see the same buttons on the inside, as well as some other elements. The biggest one is a dustbin (or debris bin) which you can easily take out and empty by releasing the Push button under it. There’s also a Reset button that you can use to factory reset your Trifi Lucy; WiFi LED light, and a USB-A charging port.
On the front side of the gadget, you’ll find the contact sensors and two cameras for day and night vision.
The bottom side of Trifo Lucy contains the usual charging pins, a tracking sensor, a rolling brush, and a side brush.
What’s in the BoxThe first thing you’ll notice about your Trifo Lucy is the top-tier packaging. While this vacuum isn’t on the cheap end of things, you can clearly see what you’re paying your money for here. Upon unpacking, here’s what you’ll find inside the box:
The entire package weight is about 13lbs or 6kg.
Cleaning PerformanceThe main purpose of owning a robot vacuum is to forget about vacuuming and or mopping your floors at all, as the robovac can run these processes automatically without your interference. Before that happens, you’ve got to set up your Trifo Lucy and introduce it to your home environment.
Setup & MappingThe setup process with Trifo Lucy is straightforward and similar to other robot vacuums. Once you’ve unpacked Lucy, plug the charger in and charge your device using the charging dock. Meanwhile, you’ll need to download the app, create an account, and sync Trifo Lucy to your home WiFi. After Trifo Lucy’s fully charged, you open the app and start mapping your home.
Most mapping robot vacuums use laser-based LiDAR technology for mapping, while Lucy uses a camera to create a floor plan of your house. This tech’s called Visual SLAM and is considered more thorough in capturing information about the robot’s surroundings. This means that Lucy’s ability to avoid objects in front of it is superior compared to those gadgets using LiDAR.
Vacuuming & General CleaningThere are a few factors that make Trifo Lucy a superior cleaning tool. Mainly, it’s the maximum suction power of 4000Pa (with an average of 2700PA for most modern robovacs) and a sizable 600ml dustbin. Considering that the dustbin isn’t a self-emptying one, its big size allows you to only worry about emptying the dustbin once every week or so.
The combination of a rotating brush roll and a side brush will do a great job cleaning the hard floors of your house, even on a standard suction setting. If you need Trifo Lucy to clean big messes and pick up pet hair and grime, you’ll need to ramp up the suction power to the max. The same goes for cleaning carpets and area rugs. For thorough cleaning, we also recommend enabling the edge cleaning feature in the app (Sweeping edgewise). It makes Lucy put extra effort around the furniture and next to the walls.
Cleaning the Trifo Lucy itself is straightforward. Open the cover, remove and empty the dustbin. Then turn your robovac over, remove the rolling brush and remove any tangled hair. You can also wipe and clean the body of the robot vacuum with a soft cloth.
The Mop FunctionTrifo Lucy comes with a mop function that allows for wet cleaning. A useful feature when you spill something on your floor and need to clean the stain. However, the water tank for Trifo Lucy is only 100ml, which means you’ll likely have to reload it once or twice before Lucy covers your entire home. That’s not ideal if you’re looking to automate your cleaning completely.
Low Battery ModeYou don’t have to worry about keeping your robot vacuum charged fully at all times. When the battery level drops down to 15%, Trifo Lucy automatically returns to the dock station to recharge. When it’s fully charged, the robovac resumes cleaning as scheduled.
Software & Home Security FeaturesTrifo Lucy uses a mobile app called Trifo Home, where you can view all of the robot vacuum controls, create a cleaning schedule, and tweak other settings.
Trifo Home AppUpon installation, the app will ask for a standard set of permissions, like allowing it to send notifications to your phone. That’s a useful one, and we recommend enabling it that way, Lucy can send you alerts if it catches an intruder in your house while you’re away.
Next, the app will ask you to create an account and add Lucy to the list of devices to get started.
Browsing through settings, you’ll find various cleaning modes, and ability to schedule cleaning sessions, maintenance stats that show alerts in case any of the robot vacuum parts need to be replaced and do not disturb (DND) mode to stop Lucy from switching on while you’re asleep, as well as cleaning history that shows you the areas Lucy has cleaned and cleaning time.
After running the robovac for the first time, you’ll find a map in the app where you can name different zones of your house and create no-go zones for Lucy to avoid.
One of the most exciting features that Trifo Lucy has is manual control – you can load the video of your house and use the app to drive the robot vacuum around remotely. You can also record this footage. To switch to manual control, select Start Video at the bottom of the app. This will open up the camera, and you can see your house from Lucy’s point of view.
Aside from recording this footage, you can change between Day and Night time vision and switch the microphone on and off.
Trifo Lucy: the Security CameraThanks to the motion detection feature you can use Trifo Lucy as a security camera. When Motion Detection is enabled, you get a notification on your phone paired with the photo of what (or whom) the robot vacuum caught moving in front of the camera. This could be used to both keep an eye on your house and to check on your pets when you’re away.
Speaking of pets, you can also use the built-in microphone to play with them remotely or to (try to) calm them down if you see them through the camera making a mess.
Should You Buy the Trifo Lucy Robot Vacuum?Trifo Lucy isn’t the perfect cleaning solution for every problem. If you’re looking for the best vacuum-mop combo, Trifo Lucy might not be the top pick for you since the mop feature is more of a small add-on here. However, there are plenty of reasons why you should buy Trifo Lucy.
Top 13 Best Games Like Gta You Can Play
After more than a decade, you might feel like you’ve seen everything GTA V/GTA Online has to offer. So. we’re running down the top 15 best games like GTA, from chaotic shooters to forgotten jewels.
Open-world, third-person shooting, questing, driving, side activities, money, crime, and fame. All of these elements are the DNA of the GTA series. They combine to offer two things, mostly: the joy of creating mayhem without consequences, and the thrills of playing an anti-hero in a realistic scenario.
Selecting Games like GTAGames like GTA should offer open-world chaos, shooting, and driving.
We’re bringing you the top 15 best games like GTA. Some of these rely on similar chaotic experiences; others revolve around open-world stories with shooting and driving.
In summary, our selections feature a blend of the following elements:
Games Like GTA Saints Row Series – Saints Row IVYou can get a remastered version of Saints Row: The Third.
Developer: Volition, Inc
Publisher: Deep Silver
Release Date: August 2013
Platform: Windows, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Linux.
An alien invasion? Yes, an alien invasion. You’re the USA President, the silly super-patriot who will save the Earth from overlord Zinyak. To your aid comes an insane array of pew-pew powers and guns. It’s a wild experience.
See, any game in the Saints Row series would fit our list. These games started as GTA imitations, freely taking elements from the Rockstar elements. When Saints Row: The Third came out in 2011, it found its own personality: full-steam silly.
Initially, it presents an open-world setting. You can explore it and do side activities at your own will, and you can drive as well. As the main story moves on, the game challenges you with tough action set pieces, good-time shooting segments, and a whole lot of random and absurd elements there to make you laugh.
Watch Dogs Series – Watch_Dogs: LegionWatch Dogs: Legion is only available via the Ubisoft store.
Developer: Ubisoft Toronto
Publisher: Ubisoft
Release Date: October 2023
Platform: Windows, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS5, Google Stadia.
Legion stays true to the series formula. It offers similar free-roam gameplay, choice mechanics, and chaotic hacking powers. That said, you could check prior games in the series, like Watch Dogs 2. The older title is also a satire; thus it captures the tone GTA V offers.
Nevertheless, the newer game offers new elements to spice up the game. Within a dystopian London setting, you can recruit any NPC in the world as part of your team. Every NPC has a particular set of skills, giving you options for the quests. As a result, you get an endless amount of supporters for the ongoing war against the city’s corruption.
It’s not a perfect game, though. The multi-protagonist approach lacks depth and can fall flat quickly. For example, the way the game handles voices and cinematic cuts with multiple characters is weird.

Red Dead Redemption 2Red Dead Redemption 2 has an unpopular online version.
Developer: Ubisoft Toronto
Publisher: Ubisoft
Release Date: October 2023
Platform: Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Google Stadia.
Rockstar has lost plenty of fan credibility in recent years. However, they know how to create masterpieces. If you’re looking for games like GTA, Red Dead Redemption 2 is so much more than that. In many ways, it’s Rockstar over-delivering and standing way above its competitors.
RDR 2 is a massive RPG in a living, breathing, cowboy world. It’s gorgeous, deep, full of details, and realistic aspects. The title combines stunning graphics with stellar playtime and a memorable story to stand as one of the most iconic games in recent history. And even if you don’t like it, you must recognize its prowess.
So, the game has a campaign mode that goes for 80 to 100 hours. You play as Arthur Morgan, a member of a notorious gang currently declining. The plot revolves around the rivalries against law enforcers, other bands, and Pinkerton agents.
Along the way, you’ll find yourself doing a plethora of activities to pass the time. These include taking care of your guns, hunting, learning new skills, getting a new barber cut, fish, playing poker, and interacting with other NPCs. Overall, it gets most of the GTA V elements: open-world, driving (on horses), shooting, a chaotic lifestyle, a riveting plot, free-roam, and whatnot.
Mafia IIIHangar 13 studio has only made Mafia games so far.
Developer: Hangar 13
Publisher: 2K Games
Release Date: October 2023
Platform: Windows, macOS, PS4, Xbox One
This is an open-world game where you play as a member of a criminal organization. It’s a grounded take on the GTA formula, with a darker tone and a serious storyline. However, some of its topics will remind you of GTA 4 and San Andreas’ themes of redemption, revenge, betrayal, and temptation.
Mafia 3 also has a stronger focus on free-roam and side activities. The studio Hangar 13 wanted to make it closer to a Rockstar title. So, the story focuses on a war veteran trying to escape from his past. It sounds like GTA 4’s main character Niko Bellic, but Lincoln Clay has a strong personality and motivation.
The narrative is a slow-burn, but it takes its cues from legends like The Godfather and even The Sopranos. Naturally, the writing is outstanding, capable of making you enjoy Mafia 3 as a series, as well as a video game.
Yakuza Series – Yakuza: Like a DragonYakuza: Like a Dragon changed the main protagonist after several entries following Kazuma Kiryu.
Developer: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio
Publisher: Sega
Release Date: January 2023
Platform: Windows, PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series
The Yakuza series is an obvious choice as well. In summary, these games revolve around characters going in and out of criminal life. That means dealing with the gang rivalries, the law, and betrayal.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon adds something to the formula. These are open-world games playing in third-person perspective and featuring an arcade-like battle system. However, the latest game swapped the arcade for a classic JRPG, turn-based combat. As a result, it is one of the best-reviewed games in recent times.
But this is not enough to convince you, so what else does Yakuza offer? Well, the series is quite popular for its side activities. Instead of helping random NPCs, you can just have fun. Sing karaoke, watch illicit content, manage a bar for adults, date escorts, or participate in go-kart races. On top of that, if you want to, you can complete over 50 substories.
Lastly, the open-world city is a real-life recreation of Japanese cities and towns. You play as Ichiban Kasuha, a bold new character introducing a new storyline. He’s a low-ranking Yakuza member who went to prison for 18 years after a betrayal. Once he gets out, he embarks on a bold journey to get his life back.
L.A. NoireL.A. Noire might not be available in your region due to its old age.
Developer: Team Bondi, Rockstar
Publisher: Rockstar
Release Date: May 2011
Platform: Windows, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch.
As the name suggests, L.A. Noire tells a cynic, ambiguous, and obscure detective story. However, the gameplay revolves around investigation and exploration rather than action. That means you can’t go on chaotic rampages; you can only shoot at your enemies.
Nevertheless, aside from shooting and driving, you’ll face engaging puzzles. You’ll need to judge suspects based on facial expressions and clues you’ve gathered. Your conclusions may lead you to the right, wrong, or neutral directions. Yet, there’re no branching paths and no multiple endings.
That said, the game won’t be holding your hand. You’re to pursue or abandon clues and suspects. And outside of interrogation missions, you can also free-roam the streets of a 1940s L.A. alongside your partner. Along the ride, you can find collectibles and Landmarks, collect vehicles, and solve street crimes.
Just Cause 4Hust Cause 4 is about sky-high chaotic fun.
Developer: Avalanche Studios
Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: December 2023
Platform: Windows, PS4, Xbox One.
Just Cause 4 is chaotic and explosive. On top of that, it gives players a ludicrous amount of freedom (and DLCs). This game has wingsuit, grappling hooks, vehicles, surfing boards, tornadoes lifting your bike up in the air, and more. In essence, it works with a ragdoll physics engine for the same amusing results as GTA V.
The story happens on a fictional tropical South American island. Here, your job is eliminating the Black Hand faction, a criminal organization that took over the country. During your quest, you’ll recruit soldiers and cause a ludicrous amount of damage and chaos for your “heroic” task.
That said, Just Cause 4 works akin to a Far Cry game. The maps have different areas, and you’d have to defeat the leaders of each site to liberate the region. Then, you move to the next, where enemies will meet you with increased challenges. As you’re probably thinking, the story is not very good.
Payday 2Payday 2 is an online-only game. However, you can join random matches.
Developer: Overkill Software
Publisher: 505 Games
Release Date: August 2013
Platform: Windows, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch.
If you enjoy GTA heist missions, Payday 2 is the kind of experience you’re looking for. Not only is it one of the best games like GTA, but it’s also a co-op FPS that gathers players on a series of high-stakes robberies.
Players have to strategize to complete the missions. The idea is to think about the details of the heist and then play them out with extreme precision. GTA Online also added a similar feature after Payday 2, Heists.
The gameplay is about a four-player squad on a crime spree in Washington DC. Players can get the contracts on the CRIMENET network and freely choose anything, from small stores to massive banks, cyber-crime, or kidnappings.
Overall, it’s a rewarding game with a simple gameplay loop. You go on missions, earn money, buy and craft better gear, learn new skills, and slowly become a criminal legend. Lastly, the game features a hefty character progression system for a dangerously addictive experience.
Mad Max
Developer: Avalanche Studios
Publisher: Warner Bros. Games
Release Date: September 2023
Platform: Windows, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One.
Mad Max is loosely connected with the movie franchise, but it’s not nearly as popular as the movies. While the 2023 movie starring Tom Hardy was a massive hit, the companion title became an underdog.
We’re here to recommend it as one of the best games like GTA. While borrowing most of its mechanics from the Batman: Arkham Knight games, Mad Max has its own sense of Valhalla. It features arcade melee combat, robust driving mechanics, and beaten psychos for an overall chaotic experience.
Naturally, you play as Mad Max. You’re a lone warrior in a deserted post-apocalyptic world where cars and gasoline are key to survival. The setting opens up an action-packed third-person open-world game.
Your goal is staying alive in the wasteland by brutal vehicle and ground combat. Ultimately you want to find the “Plains of Silence.” But the journey is vicious and challenging. You go on scavenging missions for treacherous NPCs on a dangerous land. Lastly, there’s a character progression system, a crafting system, and scarce resources.
Far Cry Series – Far Cry 6Far Cry 6’s crafting system works via the “Resolver” workbenches. “Resolver” means “to solve” or “to sort out.”
Developer: Ubisoft Toronto
Publisher: Ubisoft
Release Date: October 2023
Platform: Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series.
Everyone knows what to expect from Far Cry games. Even though the first three entries were unique and different from each other, subsequent titles have offered more of the same. And that’s exactly what Far Cry 6 is: more of the same, but better.
The setting is Yara, a fictional tropical island in South America. President Antón Castillo is leading the country with an iron fist. Giancarlo Esposito played the part to deliver the best character in the game.
You play as Dani Rojas, a guerrilla fighter aiming to free the island from its oppressors. As before, you must liberate different regions until facing Antón Castillo in Esperanza city (also open-world). The game offers a massive open-world, a crazy amount of weapons, bullet types, weapon crafting, and high-stakes quests.
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive EditionSleeping Dogs is a forgotten jewel.
Developer: United Front Games
Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: August 2012
Platform: Windows, macOS, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4.
Sleeping Dogs is an older title that blends Blockbuster action, stunts, and martial arts with an open-world crime setting. The result is like a GTA game meets a Bruce Lee classic film. And it’s great, so we’re sad its sequel never came out.
Currently, you can play the Definitive Edition, which packs all of its DLCs plus significant visual and audio improvements. It’s a great way to enter the craze of the 2012 masterpiece you may have missed.
This opens up various gameplay mechanics. There’s hand-to-hand combat with an excellent martial arts mechanic. There’s free-roam driving, illegal street races, firearms, karaoke, gambles, cock fights, and more. Overall, Sleeping Dogs is explosive, high-speed, and features many activities.
Lego City: UndercoverLego City: Undercover is the only game like GTA for kids on our list.
Developer: Traveller’s Tales
Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: March 2013
Platform: Nintendo Wii U, Xbox One, PS4, Windows, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS.
Most games like GTA are for mature audiences. That’s because they feature deep themes, violence, cops, robbers, and other night-time luxuries.
But Lego makes games for kids, and their Undercover title is exactly that. It’s a cute open-world platformer that takes elements from the GTA series for a unique story.
The game follows Chase McCain in a story full of pop culture references. He’s an undercover cop on a quest to catch Rex Fury. The plot comes with the classical wit and sense of humor Lego tends to offer.
Players co complete the game alone or with a two-player co-op. Either way, the gameplay is about exploring a cute Lego City, a metropolis with 20 districts. Players can drive, find collectibles, and live through hilarious movie references.
Max Payne 3Max Payne 3 is a non-open-world Rockstar game.
Developer: Rockstar Studios
Publisher: Rockstar Games
Release Date: May 2012
Platform: Windows, PS3, Xbox 360
Max Payne 3 is not open-world, and it has no driving mechanics. It’s also not chaotic and has no ragdoll physics. Is this forgotten jewel really a game like GTA?
Yes, it is, but we left it last because of its lack of features. See, series fans realize GTA V uses a similar combat system to Max Payne 3. Both games have identical cover, shooting, movement, and damage mechanics. Even down to the little crosshair dots, it looks like GTA V took the Max Payne 3 shooting for itself.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though. Rockstar’s game looks like a combination of all good things in the video-game industry. That said, Max Payne 3 is different. It’s a linear third-person shooter where you play as New York detective Max Payne.
Aside from its revolutionary shooting mechanics, the game added another sweat element many developers have copied. The “Bullet Time” skill allows players to slow-down time to aim shots and evade enemy shots. Moreover, enemy NPCs suffer different wounds and have different death animations depending on their weapons.
Ipad Mini: History, Specs, Pricing, Review, And Deals
History
The iPad mini was first introduced in October of 2012. Back in the keynote, this iPad contrasted with the standard model: 9.7 inches for the base model, and 7.9 inches for the mini one. “Easy to remember,” Apple said at the time.
One year later, in 2013, the company gave this iPad a minor upgrade with the A7 processor and a Retina display. Only in 2014, with the iPad mini 3, Apple introduced the Touch ID on the tablet while adding support for Apple Pay.
Alongside the first iPad Pro, the iPad mini 4 was announced in September of 2023, but with the iPhone 6s and a new Apple TV also presented at this keynote, the iPad mini 4 was overshadowed. It received an A8 processor and its first redesign with a slightly taller and wider body than the previous models.
When everyone thought Apple wouldn’t launch another iPad mini, the company released the fifth generation in March of 2023. This was the most significant update for the mini line at the time, with a major processor upgrade and the first-generation Apple Pencil support.
Two years later, Apple unveiled the sixth-generation iPad mini. It changed everything about its most portable tablet. Now with Touch ID on the upper button, a larger display with thinner bezels, A15 Bionic, better cameras, and new colors
iPad mini SpecsThe sixth-generation iPad mini has an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display with thinner bezels. With the powerful A15 Bionic processor, Apple claims it’s 80% faster than the previous model, making it the most capable iPad mini ever.
Users also get 64GB and 256GB storage options and a new USB-C port, allowing faster connectivity and cellular models with 5G bringing more flexible mobile workflows.
With a new 12MP Ultra Wide front camera and Neural Engine, users can enjoy even more engaging video calls. As users move around, Center Stage automatically pans the camera to keep them in view. When others join in, the camera detects them too, and smoothly zooms out to include them in the conversation. Center Stage makes video calls more natural in FaceTime as well as third-party video-calling apps.
It also has a 12MP main camera that can record in 4K for the first time. This iPad also brings for the first time support for the second-generation Apple Pencil, also attaching to this tablet’s side.
Apple offers third-part wireless keyboard options for customers who want to type with a proper keyboard.
It’s available in five new colors: black, white, dark cherry, English lavender, and electric orange. You can choose between the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular (5G) models. This iPad offers an “all-day battery life” with 10-hour support and has a Lightning port for charging.
iPad mini 6 ‘jelly scrolling’ display refresh bug and other screen problemsAlthough many people praised the new iPad mini, some customers started noticing a “jelly scrolling” bug.
When looking at the iPad mini in portrait with the camera at the top, the right side of the display updates faster than the left side. Upside down, the left side will now update quicker than the right side. Curiously, the lag is much harder to discern when using the iPad mini in landscape mode.
Some people are also complaining about LCD discoloration and distortion issues
iPadOS 15 featuresThe new iPad mini comes with iPadOS 15. This operating system brings a redesigned Home Screen with widgets and App Library support.
On iPadOS 15, FaceTime group calls can finally appear in a grid, so it’s easier to see everyone. It’s also possible to share your screen, listen to Apple Music songs together, or watch Apple TV+, HBO Max, Disney+, and others while in a call.
With the Quick Note feature, users can use the Apple Pencil to add a quick note. They just need to slide the pencil through the bottom right corner to the center of the screen and start writing.
iPadOS 15.1 featuresOne month after releasing iPadOS 15, Apple released iPadOS 15.1 More notable, the company finally brought SharePlay support for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Unfortunately, Universal Control wasn’t one of the features added with this new version. Here’s what else is new:
Translate
Mandarin Chinese (Taiwan) support in the Translate app and for system-wide translation
Home
New automation triggers based on the current reading of a HomeKit-enabled humidity, air quality, or light level sensor
Shortcuts
New pre-built actions let you overlay text on images or gifs, plus a new collection of games lets you pass the time with Siri.
iPadOS 15.2 featuresFive weeks after releasing iPadOS 15.1, Apple is releasing iPadOS 15.2. It brings more features that were expected to launch alongside iPadOS 15 but, unfortunately, Universal Control is still nowhere to be seen. Here are the top features of this version:
Apple Music Voice Plan is a new subscription tier that gives you access to all songs, playlists, and stations in Apple Music using Siri
App Privacy Report in Settings lets you see how often apps have accessed your location, photos, camera, microphone, contacts, and more during the last seven days, as well as their network activity
Communication safety setting gives parents the ability to enable warnings for children when they receive or send photos that contain nudity
Digital Legacy allows you to designate people as Legacy Contacts so they can access your iCloud account and personal information in the event of your death
Apple TV app: Store tab lets you browse, buy, and rent movies and TV Shows all in one place
iPadOS 15.3 featuresSix weeks after releasing iPadOS 15.2, Apple is releasing iPadOS 15.3. This update foregoes new features in favor of under-the-hood bug fixes and improvements. One of the most notable changes here is a fix for a Safari vulnerability that may have been leaking your browsing history and Google ID data to the websites you visited.
iPadOS 15.4 featuresiPadOS 15.4 finally brings one of the most important features expected from iPadOS 15 and that got delayed: Universal Control. Here’s everything new with iPadOS 15.4:
Universal Control: This feature allows you to control your Mac and iPad using the same keyboard and mouse/trackpad. Universal Control needs iPadOS 15.4 and macOS Monterey 12.3;
New Siri voice: Siri has a fifth American voice. Apple says a member of the LGBTQ+ community recorded the voice and it’s non-binary;
More emoji: iPadOS 15.4 also brings new emojis. You can discover all of the new characters here;
Shortcuts automation: Adds support for running Personal Automations in the background without requiring a pesky banner notification.
You can learn everything new with this update here.
iPadOS 15.5 featuresDifferent from other software updates, iPadOS 15.5 only improves the Podcast app experience, as Apple focused on Wallet changes for the iPhone this time:
Apple Podcasts includes a new setting to limit episodes stored on your iPhone and automatically delete older ones
iPadOS 15.6 featuresiPadOS 15.6 is yet another small update for iPad users. Here’s what’s news:
TV app adds the option to restart a live sports game already in progress and pause, rewind, or fast-forward.
Fixes an issue where Settings may continue to display that device storage is full even if it is available.
Fixes an issue that may cause Braille devices to slow down or stop responding when navigating text in Mail.
Fixes an issue in Safari where a tab may revert to a previous page.
iPadOS 15.7 featuresiPadOS 15.7 only brings bug fixes and small security improvements as the company is currently testing iPadOS 16.
PricingThe sixth-generation iPad mini pricing starts at $499 for the 64GB storage option with Wi-Fi only. The prices can go up to $799 with the 256GB storage option and Wi-Fi + 5G. Here are the full prices of the sixth-generation mini Apple sells:
64GB with Wi-Fi: $499
64GB with Wi-Fi + Cellular: $649
256GB with Wi-Fi: $649
256GB with Wi-Fi + Cellular: $799
Lower prices may be available from Apple’s official Amazon store.
iPad mini ReviewIn our sixth-generation iPad mini review, we praise its versatility to be used as a powerful device while still compact enough to read a book, use social media, and keep it anywhere near you.
The iPad mini 6 is hands-down the best portable tablet on the market today. It’s a portable device that can pretty much do everything well, but it isn’t necessarily amazing in any one area. For example, it’s a wonderful reading device because of its large screen and lightweight, balanced design, but it suffers due to the lack of ProMotion. And the screen is larger than the iPad mini 5, but there’s no jump in screen fidelity, color, or brightness.Although the design of this iPad looks a bit outdated in 2023, it’s still by far the best small-form-factor tablet on the market. And now with the added performance of the A12 Bionic chip, it’s not just portable — it’s a portable powerhouse.

15 Best Marvel Games Of All Time You Can Play
The Marvel universe is a great and expansive universe with many superheroes packing different abilities in it. The Marvel comics have been around for a long time, but recently, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been catching a lot of people’s attention. The stories and movies are well written and are really interesting. Apart from movies and comics, Marvel also makes games for their movies and comic superheroes. Now, some games may have their flaws but being thrown right into the action is always fun, and that is exactly what these games do. So, here is a list of some of the 15 best Marvel games you can play:
1. Deadpool (PC, PS4, PS4, Xbox 360 Xbox One)
Deadpool is perhaps one of the most hilarious (anti-)heroes in the Marvel Universe. He is famously known as the “Merc With The Mouth” and is portrayed as a self-aware character who usually breaks the fourth wall. The Rated R hero has a game of his own which is no different. The game has you hack and slash your enemies and spew guts and blood everywhere. The game has a lot of the signature elements of Deadpool, such as the fourth wall break, vulgar humor, and a lot of profanities.
2. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (PC, PS4, PS2, Xbox 360)
This is perhaps one of the best games put out by Marvel and might be one of the few instances where the game is better than the movie itself (not better than Logan though). The game has Hugh Jackman play as Logan, so the game stays true to the Wolverine played in the MCU. Origins: Wolverine is another M-rated Marvel game, so you know it is going to be the real deal. The game is filled with brutal deaths with tons of blood. The story might not be the best one out there, but it exists to have you fight with a lot of bad guys and shred them into pieces or get shredded into pieces yourself.
The game is not easy and you will get a lot of damage which exposes Wolverine’s adamantium skeleton, further adding to the genuineness of the game. The game also has unlockables and custom outfits which you can equip to your liking. Origins: Wolverine is one of the few games which really makes you feel like that you are a part of the game, and is one heck of a game.

3. X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse (PC, PS2, Xbox)
The Rise of Apocalypse is an RPG styled game such as Diablo. The game has the basic elements of an action RPG but with X-Men characters throughout the game. These characters all have special abilities and powers which can be upgraded and made more powerful. The objective of the game is to take down the supervillain Apocalypse and to do that, the game allows a lot of team and character customization.
Like the previous X-Men Legends, you can form teams, even if it is with nonmutants like Iron Man, or even with the Brotherhood of the evil mutants. The game delivers on the story and has a lot of dialogues between the characters. The interactions were also quite interactive, as the dialogues are designed with the history of these characters in mind.

4. Marvel Vs Capcom 2: New Age Of Heroes (PS2, PS4, Xbox, Xbox 360, PSP)
The game was so popular that it even got an HD re-release nine years after the original. The game has you battle a team of three members, with your own team having three members as well. This gauntlet style battle and the different special moves and characters make the game refreshing every time you play it, and each battle has something new in it.

5. Captain America: Super Soldier (PS4, Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS, DS)
Captain America is one of Marvel’s most important superheroes and was the first Avenger. He also helps in forming up the new Avengers with the Black Widow. 6. Marvel Heroes Omega (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Marvel Heroes Omega is a different type of game compared to other Marvel games on this list. This game is an MMORPG and was recently made available to consoles after years of being available on PC. The game has most of the major characters from the Marvel Universe in its roster. You can glide your shield across Hydra henchmen as Captain America, or you can beat people up as The Hulk.
Omega follows the story of the Cosmic Cube. Dr. Doom possesses the Cosmic Cube and plans to reshape the entire universe and to achieve that he has built an extensive army of allies. In this game, you are to team up with other members and stop him. The game offers traditional MMORPG features such as character customization, interaction with NPCs, and even quite a bit of loot.
7. Lego Marvel Superheroes (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC)
This is by far one of the best games from Marvel. LEGO Marvel Heroes is a collaboration with LEGO and consists of over 100 different characters. As this is predominantly a LEGO game, it has the same design and main objective as other LEGO games, but how the objective is reached is the fun part. The game has you collect Cosmic Bricks (a nod to the infinity stones) scattered throughout the universe before the villains do.
The gameplay is smooth, with a matching plot and you will need to switch between characters to get the job done. There are numerous characters to play this game, but you start off as Iron Man and Hulk and then proceed to get the rest of the characters. Each character has specific abilities which will help in certain situations. For example, Black Widow’s power to spoof cameras and other things. This variety and art make this game a perfect game for Marvel and LEGO fans alike.

8. Spiderman (PS1, N64, PC)
Features like unlockables, different costumes, and Easter eggs were all in this game. Although the graphics are not up to par by today’s standards, it still holds up pretty well. Especially the What If mode, which changes the dialogues and gameplay entirely when you enter the cheat. Also, with the upcoming Spider-man game, it’s a good time to get nostalgic with this Spiderman game.

10. Marvel Contest Of Champions (Android, iOS)
Marvel’s Contest Of Champions is a mobile version of their own take on the fighting genre. It borrows cues from its own Marvel Vs Capcom and DC’s Injustice, with its own twists. The game remains a fighting game where characters fight each other in a 2D arena. All the controls are touch based and simple swipe gestures, but with the addition of different special moves makes the game more interesting. Apart from the fighting and special moves, Contest Of Champions boasts a wide variety of characters, and each character brings something new to the table. This game is simple yet fun, and is a must pick for Marvel fans.

11. The Punisher (PS2, Xbox, PC)
The Punisher made a great impact in the Daredevil TV show and a new Punisher show is in the works. For people unaware, the Punisher is a vigilante whose job is to take down villains. The game stays true to that and is a third person shooter with some twists. Apart from the bullets and the guns, there are also scenes where you must interrogate the opponent. Apart from that, there are features like Slaughter Mode, in which the game is slowed down and you lose your guns in favor of an endless supply of throwing knives which you can use to precisely hit an enemy’s face. Another fun addition is that you can use any opponent as a human shield. The gameplay spans over 10 hours, so there is plenty of action to go around.

12. Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (PS2, Xbox, PC)
13. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One)
The game has all the RPG attributes with character customization and upgrades and even has some puzzles as detours. The game is an enjoyable experience with a huge character palette. All these characters can beat anyone to a pulp, drag enemies, and much more. Some characters are more fun than others, but this variety keeps the game from getting boring. It is a must play game because of this feature alone.

14. Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is the successor of the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 game and brings some updates to its predecessor. Like other Capcom games, this update is similar. It brings new characters with new special moves and new stages to fight in. The Ultimate version of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 boasts fifty characters, which are almost all new characters when compared to the second iteration of this series. These new characters have different styles of fighting and vary in their techniques. There is a new mode as well called Heroes and Heralds, which adds more value to this game.

15. Spiderman: The Shattered Dimensions (PC, PS4, Xbox 360, PC, DS)
Spiderman: The Shattered Dimensions is a game full of different atmospheres and universes. It does a lot of things and succeeds in most of these things.
