Suggested December 2023 Jailbreak Tweaks Of The Week: Dots 2, Gravitation, Springtomize 5, And More…

If you have a jailbreakable device, then you may want to find some add-ons to go along with it. In this piece, we’ll discuss our favorite jailbreak tweaks released between Monday, February 17th and Sunday February 23rd. As usual, we’ll kick things off by talking about our favorite releases and then wrap things up with an outline of the rest afterward.

Our favorite releases this week Dots 2 – $2.00

One of the most lacking aspects of the iOS platform is utilization of the OLED display on some of Apple’s latest iPhones. One way they could do this, but choose not to, is with an always-on-display that provides insight into any missed notifications you might have.

Dots 2 is a new jailbreak tweak that confronts this shortcoming head-on. The tweak works by displaying pulsating and colorful dots on your handset’s display while it’s locked, and the rest of the display remains pitch black as to save battery life.

You can learn more about Dots 2 and how it works in our full review.

Gravitation – FREE

One of my all-time favorite quirky jailbreak tweaks to install when I first began jailbreaking introduced realistic gravitational physics to my Home screen. With that in mind, it may come as no surprise to anyone here that a new release called Gravitation triggers my nostalgia.

Just like the classic tweaks of yore, Gravitation lets you simulate a gravitational environment on your Home screen, causing all your app icons to fall in the direction of gravity. The tweak is activated with a shake gesture, and after shaking your device one more time, the icons quickly snap back into place.

You can learn more about Gravitation and why it’s so fun to use in our full review.

OneHandWizard 2 – $1.99

For those occasional instances where you try to use your massive iPhone with just one hand and fail miserably, there’s a tweak for that.

OneHandWizard 2 aims to bring a much more intuitive one-handed mode to your iPhone, and to be quite frank, it kicks the native Reachability feature’s butt.

You can learn more about OneHandWizard 2 and how it works in our full review.

Quanta (iOS 13) – FREE

Those who use Apple’s first-party Smart Battery Cases will quickly recognize that they aren’t really all that smart. When attached, your iPhone’s battery indicator displays 100% charge with a constant charging status in the Status Bar until the Smart Battery Case dies. That’s right… meh.

Quanta (iOS 13) is a newly released and free jailbreak tweak that aims to make the Smart Battery Case’s implementation into iOS a bit more intelligent. With it, your Status Bar’s battery level displays a seamless average between the handset’s battery level and the case’s battery level, of course taking into account that the case’s battery is only about 33% the size of the iPhone’s.

You can learn more about Quanta and how it augments the Smart Battery Case experience in our full review.

Springtomize 5 – $4.99

If you’re a sucker for all-in-one jailbreak tweaks because of their tendency to help reduce the number of smaller add-ons you have to install to get the effect you want, then you’ll be happy to know that Springtomize 5 – perhaps the most popular of all all-in-one tweaks – is now officially available for pwned iOS 13 devices.

Just like its predecessors, Springtomize 5 brings a plethora of user interface customization options that are carefully organized into different sections. With it, you can give your jailbroken iPhone or iPad a unique look and feel that’ll make all your friends jealous.

You can learn more about Springtomize 5 and what it can do for you in our full review.

Jailbreak Tweaks Of The Week: Dragspring, Photomanager, Proximitus, Snapper 2, And More

We’re just one step short of a full-fledged A12(X) jailbreak by way of unc0ver, but all we can do at the time of this writing is remain patient until such an update finally surfaces. If you’re using an older handset, then you’re probably looking for new and exciting ways to trick out your jailbroken installation of iOS 11 or iOS 12.

In this roundup, we’ll summarize each of this week’s new jailbreak tweak releases from Monday, April 15th to Sunday, April 21st. As usual, we’ll kick things off by discussing our favorites and then outline the rest afterward.

Our favorite releases this week DragSpring – FREE

DragSpring is a remake of a popular classic jailbreak tweak that lets you pull down from the top of your Settings app to respring your jailbroken device.

This is incredibly useful in a pinch because it doesn’t add any extraneous interfaces to your iPhone or iPad and because it works out of the box with a native interface of iOS.

You can learn more about DragSpring and where you can get it in our full review.

PhotoManager (iOS 12) – $2.00

The Photos app in iOS leaves a lot to be desired in terms of features, and that’s why the PhotoManager (iOS 12) jailbreak tweak was created.

This tweak lets you protect your Photos app’s albums with biometric protection, hide albums from third-party image pickers, save images to a specific album instead of the Camera Roll, hide albums from the Photos app, and much more.

You can learn more about PhotoManager (iOS 12) and why it’s an upgrade from the stock Photos app experience in our full review.

Proximitus – Beta

Proximitus is a new jailbreak tweak beta that will alert you whenever you leave your house without one of your essential Bluetooth devices, such as your Apple Watch or AirPods.

You can learn more about Proximitus and how to partake in the public beta in our full review.

Snapper 2 – $3.00

Snapper 2 is an awesome extension to iOS’ native screenshot functionality, as it lets you pin screenshots to the display for reference in other apps.

Snapper 2 can be used to compare two images side by side, to refer to something to type into another app, and to serve as a reminder on your Lock screen, among other things.

You can learn more about Snapper 2 and why you should get it in our full review.

Jailbreak Tweaks Of The Week: Hazmat, Indy, Selenium, And More…

These past few weeks have been particularly interesting for the jailbreak community. Whether you’re waiting for a new jailbreak tool to officially drop or you’re following the intense security research aspect of things, it seems like there’s never a dull moment anymore.

In this roundup, we will discuss the latest jailbreak tweaks released from Monday, August 10th to Sunday, August 16th. As usual, we’ll kick things off by talking about our favorite releases first and then wrap things up with an outline of the rest afterward.

Our favorite releases this week Hazmat – FREE

Hazmat is a new and free jailbreak tweak that lets iPhone and iPad users apply custom masks to the album artwork for the Apple Music and Spotify Music apps. The tweak can also apply these masks to Now Playing widget artwork.

You can learn more about Indy and what it can do for you in our full review.

Selenium – FREE

Selenium is a new must-have tweak that lets users ‘snooze’ individual notifications for as long as they’d like.

After snoozing a notification, it’ll reappear in the same place after the designated time period is over. It’s a great way to get non-important notifications out of the way temporarily without clearing them entirely so that you can get back to them when you’re ready.

You can learn more about Selenium and how it works in our full review.

Sonic – $1.99

If you like custom ringtones and wish it was a lot easier to create and import them directly on your device, then you’ll love a new app called Sonic.

This app comes with tools for clipping sound bites out of audio tracks and importing them to your ringtone library to be used as ring or text tones. The same can be achieved with computer software, but this is a good on-the-go option with an intuitive user interface.

You can learn more about Sonic and how it works in our full review.

StorageByName – FREE

StorageByName is a new must-have jailbreak tweak that provides users with various ways to sort the app storage usage pane on their handset in any order they’d like.

If you’d rather sort by name or install date rather than by storage impact, then this tweak is for you. It can also sort using ascending or descending order.

You can learn more about StorageByName and why this is something Apple should have included out of the box in our full review.

Jailbreak Tweaks Of The Week: Flashalert, Musicalkeyboard, & More…

This week has been busy for those of us at iDB since iOS 10 was released to the public for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Of course, the jailbreak community doesn’t sleep just because Apple releases a new firmware update.

In this roundup, we’ll talk about all the jailbreak tweaks that were released in Cydia this week, starting with our favorites.

Our favorite releases this week AppRestrict – $0.99

AppRestrict is a useful new jailbreak tweak that lets you impose time limits on specific apps to keep yourself more productive throughout the day.

It’s perfect for locking yourself out of those distracting social media apps that always end up sucking down all your time when you have more important things to do.

With configurable time limits that you can impose on a per-app basis, there is a lot of flexibility to play with.

You can read our full review to get a better understanding of how this tweak works and whether or not it should be installed on your device.

FlashAlert – $1.99

FlashAlert is a cool new tweak that lets you assign fully-customized LED flash alerts to any apps you want to on your iPhone.

With all of the options you have, you can easily set a different kind of LED flash alert for each app you use regularly and tell which app is notifying you with just the LED flash alone. It isn’t mandatory to assign every app an LED flash alert, so you can simply set one up for your favorite apps.

Complete with options for flash intensity, different kinds of patterns, and also repeating settings, this tweak has a lot of options you can tinker with to get the LED flash notification experience you want, something Apple’s stock LED flash alerts fail to do.

To learn more about how this tweak works, head over to our full review.

MusicalKeyboard – $0.99

MusicalKeyboard is a fun new tweak designed for music-lovers who also enjoy texting.

Although some people make their jailbroken devices stand out with themes and visual effects, this is a great way to show off the audible benefits of having a device you can do anything with.

To learn more about how the tweak works, check our our full review.

Other releases this week

GlancesAirGlance: Brings an AirDrop & AirPlay extension to the Glances jailbreak tweak (free)

MessageTypingIndicators: Toggle the feature of iMessage that tells others when you’re typing (free –review)

MiNotifier2: Enhances the functionality of the Mi Band 2 smart bracelet ($2.49)

That wraps it up for this week’s jailbreak tweak releases, but you can be sure that Cydia will be up and kicking again this coming week with new home-brew improvements for iOS 9.

At the moment, there’s no jailbreak for iOS 10, but it’s believed that Pangu is working hard on one. Cross your fingers!

If you are itching to see more jailbreak tweaks, stay tuned to iDB and don’t forget to look over last week’s roundup just in case you missed anything special.

Jailbreak Tweaks Of The Week: Gesto, Homelist, Scribble, Ytstatus, And More

With the Electra Team’s Chimera jailbreak now available for all iOS 12.0-12.1.2 devices and Pwn20wnd working on Substitute support for jailbroken A12(X) devices using unc0ver, it’s an exciting time to be a jailbreaker. With that in mind, do you know what you should install on your jailbroken iPhone or iPad?

In this roundup, we’ll summarize each of this week’s new jailbreak tweak releases from Monday, April 29th to Sunday, May 5th. As usual, we’ll kick things off by discussing our favorites and then outline the rest afterward.

Our favorite releases this week Gesto – $3.99

Gesto is a revolutionary upgrade from the traditional App Switcher that integrates the Control Center interface for improved utility and usefulness.

The tweak comes with several interface options and can also be used to quickly access system shortcuts or prevent certain apps from being killed via App Switcher swipes.

You can learn more about why you need Gesto in your life by reading our full review.

HomeList – $2.99

The Apple Watch is capable of two different Home screen styles: grid view and list view. If you’re a fan of the latter and wish that you could also have a similar Home screen style on your iPhone, then you might enjoy a new jailbreak tweak called HomeList.

With HomeList, you can enjoy an alphabetically-sorted application list as your primary Home screen app launcher. What’s more is you can customize the interface with different blur styles, colors, and even hide or show the standard Dock.

You can learn more about HomeList and where you can get it in our full review.

Remaining Charge Time – FREE

Remaining Charge Time is a captivating new jailbreak tweak that aims to let you know how much longer you have before your handset finishes charging.

The tweak displays the remaining time in place of the standard unlock text at the bottom of the Lock screen while your handset is connected to a power source, and it gradually updates as your handset begins to accumulate a charge.

You can learn more about Remaining Charge Time and how it works in our full review.

Scribble – $1.49

Scribble is a fun and quirky new jailbreak tweak that replaces the Lock screen’s standard numeric passcode interface with a drawing pad, enabling you to doodle your way into your device rather than tapping on numbers.

You’ll be able to configure your doodle preference in the tweak’s settings, after which you’ll be able to unlock your device by drawing your doodle. Much like your passcode, you are the only one that will know your specific doodle.

You can learn more about Scribble and how it works in our full review.

YTStatus – FREE

YTStatus is a jailbreak tweak that I’ve wanted for a long time, namely because it resolves one of my biggest gripes with the YouTube app. Once installed, it displays your Status Bar in the video controls interface that appears when you tap on the screen while a video plays in landscape orientation.

Before YTStatus, the only ways to view the Status Bar would be to open Control Center, rotate back to portrait orientation, or close the YouTube app, all of which are particularly intrusive when you simply want to check the time, your battery level, or your signal strength.

If you’re interested in learning more about how YTStatus works, then please let me direct you to our full review.
