How to Schedule Slack Messages on Android

To schedule messages in the Slack Android app, it is recommended that you update to the latest version to avoid any issues.

1. Open the Slack Android app and the workspace where you wish to send a scheduled message.

2. Type in the message as you normally would.

How To Schedule Slack Messages To Send Later At A Custom Time

If you’ve been remote working lately then you’re probably aware of Slack. Slack is a collaboration platform for teams that allows them to communicate and manage projects virtually. Slack keeps improving the service with new features every now and then and the company has just released the ability to send scheduled messages to users within Slack. Scheduled messages allow you to communicate time-sensitive information for the future by scheduling your messages. Scheduled messages are then sent at the set time to the recipient whether you are active on Slack or not. This can be quite useful for users that are traveling for work or are going to be unavailable in the future. Follow the guide below to schedule messages in Slack. 

How to schedule a message on Slack

Follow the guide below to easily schedule a message on Slack on your desktop or mobile. 

On Mobile

Open the Slack app on your device and tap on the ‘Compose’ icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.

Now enter the recipient’s name at the top as you would normally compose a message.

Type in your message body now. 

Once done, tap and hold on the ‘Send’ icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.

You can now choose the default times for your scheduled message or tap on ‘Custom Time’ depending on your current requirements.

Choose a date and time for your custom time now.

Tap on ‘Schedule Message’ at the bottom of the screen to schedule the current message for your chosen date and time.

And that’s it! The message will now be scheduled and it will be sent automatically on the desired date and time. 

On Desktop

As such some reasons are yet to get this feature. If you have been waiting for scheduled messages and still don’t have the option then you should first try updating your apps to their latest version. If you still do not get scheduled messages, then it is likely that the feature is yet to roll out in your region. In such cases, you can wait a day or two as the global rollout is expected to be completed in the next few days.

There’s no print function built into the default Android messaging app or other standard messaging apps out there, but there are a few workarounds.

These include using a quick screenshot of the conversation you want to print, using an third-party app, or using a connection with your Windows computer and printing the messages from there.

Print Text Messages With a Screenshot

The screenshot approach is probably the easiest. It doesn’t require any other apps, or connections to other devices. And if you have Google Cloud Print set up, you can print straight from your phone.

Find the SMS conversation you want to print. Then capture a screenshot of the conversation on your Android. If the conversation goes beyond one screen, just scroll and continue taking screenshots to the end. You might also consider capturing a scrolling screenshot.

Find the screenshot you saved, and select the Share icon at the bottom. Find the cloud printer you’ve set up and tap the app. 

This will open the cloud printer where you can send the SMS conversation screenshots.

If you don’t have cloud print set up for your Android, you can select email on the share screen. Send the screenshot to your email address so you can open it and print it from your computer or wherever you have access to a printer. You could also transfer the screenshot to your computer using your cloud storage service like Google Drive or OneDrive.

Print Text Messages With Super Backup

Install the app on your phone and then launch it. Printing SMS messages from this app only requires a few simple steps.

1. On the main screen, tap SMS. This will open a variety of options available to manage SMS messages that are stored on your phone.

2. Select the Backup Conversations button on that screen.

3. Select the checkbox next to the SMS conversation you want to print.

If you want to print multiple conversations, you can select multiple checkboxes and back those up as well. 

Back on the SMS screen, you can now choose any of the backed up SMS conversations to print.

Back on the SMS screen, select the View Backups button.

Select the file that you backed up for the text messages you want to print.

Tap the printer icon that appears at the top of the window.

Step through the cloud print options to send the printout to your printer.

If you don’t have Cloud Print set up, you can opt to print to PDF instead. Then either transfer the PDF file to your computer using Google Drive, or send it to your email account.

Print Text Messages With Your Phone

If you usually struggle to print anything from your phone, there’s another option that might work better for you. You can simply access your text messages from your computer, and then print them from there.

One of the easiest ways to do this is if you have a Windows 10 PC. You can use the Your Phone Companion app. You can download and install Your Phone Companion for Android. You’ll also need to install the Your Phone Windows app on your PC.

Note: While there’s no Your Phone app for iPhone, you can use the SMS Export app on iTunes to export your messages to your PC as a CSV or XML file and print them there.

Once you have the apps installed on your Android and Windows PC, you’re ready to start printing text messages from your Android.

1. Sync your phone with your Windows computer by having both apps running at the same time. Follow any instructions to sync the two devices.

2. Select the Messages link on the main page.

3. Browse to and select the text message conversation that you wanted to print.

4. The text messages from your Android will show up in the right pane. Now you can take a screenshot of the messages to print them. 

Just like the process of taking screenshots for printing text messages from your Android, you’ll need to scroll to the next section of the longer conversations and repeat taking screenshots until you have the entire conversation captured.

Printing these screenshots is no different than printing any other images saved on your computer.

In the dropdown menu at the top of your screen, select the Instagram account you’re posting to.

You will see a heatmap highlighting your best times to post (based on your account’s historical performance). You can switch between two tabs: “Build awareness” and “Boost engagement” to find the time that will work best for your specific goals.

If you skipped the step above and didn’t go to analytics to look up your best times to publish, you will see a couple of recommended posting times once you select a date. You can pick one or manually set a time.

How to schedule Instagram posts (for personal accounts)

Finally, let’s take a look at how to schedule an IG post for those of us using personal profiles.

If your Instagram profile is neither a creator nor a business account, don’t worry. You can still schedule your posts; there are just some extra steps involved. In short: Hootsuite sends you a mobile push notification at the scheduled time, which reminds you to log in and tap publish.

1. Add your Instagram profile to your social media management platform

For self-evident reasons, we’ll pretend that your preferred management platform is Hootsuite. From the Hootsuite dashboard:

Input your account credentials to integrate the accounts.

You’re also going to want to set up the ability to use mobile push notifications. Follow these steps on your phone:

When the time comes, you’ll receive a push notification on your phone to remind you to post to Instagram. Note that this is essentially the same process for scheduling your Instagram Stories (no matter what kind of account you have).

In general, Creator Studio is a good tool if you only want to schedule Instagram and Facebook posts (and don’t mind not being able to schedule Stories). But most social media pros can save a lot of time and energy using a social media management tool and handling all social channels from a single dashboard.

A tool like Hootsuite will help you schedule content to Instagram and Facebook pages, as well as TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Pinterest, all in one place. Here is how Creator Studio compares to Hootsuite:

You can use cross-posting (via Hootsuite or Facebook Creator Studio) to set Facebook to post to Instagram. It’s not always the best choice for truly engaging content, though.

If you’re ready to take the plunge and get real efficient with your posting habits, these tips will help keep you ahead of the game.

1. Post at the best time

In general, posting when your followers are online is key. That’s because the Instagram algorithm prioritizes recency. This means that, generally, a newer post will show up higher on your followers’ newsfeed than an older one.

That’s one reason why simple cross-posting may not work. Your audience on Facebook may be active from 6-10PM on weeknights, but browsing Instagram from 1-4PM.

The right Instagram analytics tool will tell you when your audience is most likely to be online and/or engage with your post.

For the Hootsuite social media team, that time is 8AM-12PM PST, or 4-5PM PST on weekdays. For you, it might be different.

Luckily, Hootsuite’s Best Time to Publish feature can show you your best time to post on Instagram based on your posts from the past 30 days. It groups posts by weekday and hour to identify when your posts had the highest impact, based on average impressions or engagement rate. Then it suggests the best times for you to post moving forward.

If we learned anything in 2023, it’s that the world is changing faster and faster. That’s why automating Instagram posts is a little more nuanced than “set it and forget it.”

3. Be ready to press pause

Just make sure you’re using an Instagram scheduler that allows you to press pause on all upcoming content if a crisis or emergency suddenly occurs.
