Suggested March 2024 How To Cook Meat In Ark: Survival Evolved
Cooking meat in ARK offers benefits that you can’t just simply by eating raw meat harvested from creatures. When you need to replenish health or food metrics, eating cooked meat will do a lot more for you – and might help your tames, too. What is Cooked Meat?
Cooked meat in ARK is just what it sounds like. It’s a piece of meat that has been cooked so that it is no longer raw.
Unlike dinosaur eggs in ARK, meat isn’t differentiated between types of land creatures. The raw meat you get from a Rex is the same as the raw meat from a Raptor, Dodo, or Trike.
There are a few exceptions. You can get raw fish meat from undersea creatures. However, it’s the same meat, whether it’s a Sabertooth Salmon or a Megalodon. You can also get raw mutton from an Ovis.
Raw meat and raw fish meat can also come in a higher quality called Prime Raw Meat or Prime Fish Meat.
The real difference in types of meat is cooked versus raw. Raw meat has its uses, but cooked meat is an essential food item for any player character in ARK.How to Cook Meat in ARK
While there are a few different places where you can cook meat, the process itself is basically the same no matter which you use. The two main places that players can cook meat are the campfire and the Industrial Grill.
One of the crucial things to decide is which cooking device you want to use.
The campfire is an easy choice for early-game players. It’s available immediately and doesn’t take much in the way of building materials. Once it’s ready, you can set it down anywhere, add thatch or wood for fuel, and have meat cooking in a matter of moments.
One piece of raw meat takes 20 seconds to cook in the campfire. A stack of 15 takes five minutes, and a stack of 30 takes ten minutes.
One piece of raw mutton takes one minute to cook in the campfire. A stack of 15 takes 15 minutes, and a stack of 30 takes 30 minutes.
One piece of raw fish meat takes 20 seconds to cook in the campfire. A stack of 15 takes five minutes, and a stack of 30 takes ten minutes.
Prime meat cooks at the same speed as standard quality meats.
To make a campfire, you must combine:
You craft it directly from your inventory.
The industrial grill is a great way to cook large amounts of meat at once. However, it is an expensive device to make and definitely geared more toward endgame players.
One piece of raw meat takes 18 seconds to cook in the campfire. A stack of 15 takes 36 seconds, and a stack of 30 takes 54 seconds.
One piece of raw mutton takes 18 seconds to cook in the campfire. A stack of 15 takes 36 minutes, and a stack of 30 takes 54 seconds.
One piece of raw fish meat takes 18 seconds to cook in the campfire. A stack of 15 takes 36 seconds, and a stack of 30 takes 54 seconds.
Prime meat cooks at the same speed as standard quality meats.
As you can see, it makes a great deal of meat at once. This is especially helpful if you’re feeding many animals cooked meat or planning to stock up for a trip.
To craft an industrial grill, you must combine:
40 cementing paste or achatina paste
200 metal ingots
It’s crafted in a fabricator or tek replicator. Also, it runs on gasoline and will stay active for 40 minutes for each unit of gasoline you put in it.
Another option to cook meat in ARK is in a tamed Phoenix. You can use the creatures as a mobile cooking station once tame.
One piece of raw meat takes 5 seconds to cook in the campfire. A stack of 15 takes one minute 15 seconds, and a stack of 30 takes two minutes and 30 seconds.
Phoenixes are challenging to tame. You have to hit them with fire-based weapons a bit at a time until you finally finish filling their taming bar. They have to eat sulfur once tame. It can take a while to get a Phoenix, so understanding how to use and prepare meat at your base is beneficial until you can get this late-game tame.Storing Meat
Where you store cooked meat affects how long it takes before it spoils. (Once cooked meat spoils, it becomes spoiled meat just like raw meat.)
If you keep cooked meat in your inventory, a piece from each stack spoils in 20 minutes. If you have four stacks of 50, four pieces of meat spoil every twenty minutes. If you have ten stacks of 20, ten pieces of meat spoil every twenty minutes.
Add cooked meat into the inventory of a tamed dinosaur, and its spoil timer is extended to one hour and 20 minutes.
In a preserving bin, meat lasts for three hours and 20 minutes.
In a refrigerator, it lasts for one day, nine hours, and 20 minutes.
Remember to check your settings and mods for the actual spoil timer. It has been different on most servers I’ve been on because of custom settings.
You can also take another step and turn your meat into cooked meat jerky. This dramatically increases the amount of time the meat lasts.
Making cooked meat jerky is easy once you have access to many mid-game items like oil. Many players choose to change most of their meat into jerky rather than storing plain cooked meat.
Open the inventory of the preserving bin.
Place three sparkpowder, one unit of oil, and a piece of cooked meat into its inventory.
Wait for the process to finish. It takes a preserving bin 36 minutes to craft one piece of cooked meat jerky.
Because the cooked meat jerky cook time is so long, many tribes choose to have multiple preserving bins going at once to help make the most of their cooked meat.
A piece lasts for two days in a player’s inventory.
A piece lasts for eight days in a tame dinosaur’s inventory.
The timer is extended to 20 days if you leave it in the preserving bin.
The timer is extended to 200 days if you put it in the refrigerator.
As you can see, the increased spoil timer makes cooked meat jerky the best for food storage because you can rest assured it will be available longer.Recipes with Meat
There are a few recipes in ARK that require cooked meat. These give you a series of different effects.
Enduro Stew gives you increased health regeneration for 15 minutes. You can make it in the cooking pot with a container of water, ten mejoberries, nine cooked meat (or fish meat or cooked meat jerky), five rockarrots, five savoroots, and two stimulants.
Focal Chili increases your movement speed and crafting speed for 15 minutes. You can make it in a cooking pot with 20 amarberries, 20 tintoberries, 20 azulberries, ten mejoberries, nine cooked meat (or fish meat or cooked meat jerky), and five citronal.
Lazarus Chowder increases your health recovery and decreases the amount of oxygen you use. It’s a great food to bring on dives. You can make it in the cooking pot with a container of water, ten mejoberries, nine cooked meat (or fish meat or cooked meat jerky), five longrass, five savoroots, and two narcotics.Harvesting Meat
If you’re new to ARK, you might not know that you don’t always get the exact yield with every harvesting tool. For example, a pick is better than a hatchet. With a pick, you get more meat. With a hatchet, you get more hide at the expense of meat.
Consider taming a large carnivore to get the absolute best raw meat yield, consider taming a large carnivore. The Rex, Allosaurus, Gigantasaur, and Gacha are all excellent options for tribes that need a great deal of raw meat at once.

Your tray will usually consist of a piece of meat, a piece or two of bread, a piece of fruit, and a vegetable. Now that you know what you’re working with, you see why it’s important to learn to cook your own food in jail.
Make spicy beef ramen: make the noodles, drain off the water, add the seasoning pack. Then cut up a beef stick, a cheese stick, crumble a handful of spicy chips in it, and season with hot sauce to taste. It’s really pretty good.
A lot of times, several inmates will all bring a ramen soup and one extra item, combine them in one large goulash and then divide it up evenly. It’s as much a social event as it is a way to eat.
Use hot water to cook with. Since most often you won’t have access to microwaves or other forms to cook, hot water is the best option for jail or prison cooking. If this is not available, then warm water is at least hopefully available. Usually, you can purchase a plastic bowl with a lid from the canteen as well. You put your noodles in this, add hot water, put the lid on, and then take it to your bunk and cover it with bedding and a pillow to hold in the heat. This method is usually pretty effective, and after 10 minutes or so you have your ramen.
Try other things. For example, save your boiled egg from your breakfast tray, combine mayonnaise packets from the canteen and chop up a pickle from the canteen, and maybe a mustard pack. Save your bread from your lunch or dinner trays, and then you have an egg salad. You can do the same thing with tuna packs that are sometimes available from the canteen.
For example, one person might give you their lunch tray for a ramen noodle pack. But if it’s Sunday, the day you might get, say two pieces of coffee cake and grits and eggs and toast, or biscuit and gravy day, you might be able to get a ramen soup and a bag of chips.
Some of the more popular items from the canteen to trade with are candy, spicy chips, and the king of all jailhouse items, instant coffee. A smart inmate might order a lot of these more popular items, then around the middle of the week when others run out, make loans, for example, give someone a cup of coffee, on canteen day that person owes you two cups.
Use packaging. Another way to cook your goulash is to use a large chip bag, or a clean trash bag, full of hot water, or if not available, put the bag under the warm water in your sink and let it run over the bag for ten minutes or so. If you’re lucky enough to get cornbread, you can collect pieces of this up, mix with a little water, and make a dough up. Use whatever you can find, like a toilet paper tube stuffed tight with toilet paper and wrapped in saran wrap from another food item as a rolling pin to roll out the dough, then wrap your filling (usually a goulash) and let dry, or place in the warmest place possible, to dry it faster. Then you have a large “burrito”.
Volunteer to work in the kitchen, where you have the opportunity to get leftover food.
If you don’t have money on your books, you can do services for other inmates such as laundry, drawing cards for them to send to loved ones, helping out with legal research for their legal cases, tattoo work, haircutting, cleaning someone else’s cell and just about anything else you can imagine.
All of the seeds follow the Minecraft parity and work on both Java and Bedrock editions in the same way. However, you will also find a few exclusive features and seeds on the list. If that’s the case for a specific seed, you will find the edition information in its description. Having said that, let’s dive in.1. Scattered Survival Island
The world looks broken in our first seed’s spawn location. It puts us in a weird spot by spawning us on the edge of a scattered mountain island. You can get most of your resources here but with the risk of fall damage looming large. Fortunately, this island spawns with a village on its foot on the Java edition. Meanwhile, the bedrock edition has a village at its back, which you can reach after crossing a portion of the frozen ocean.
The villages in both editions have villagers with ironsmith and farmer jobs to provide you with enough resources to get started. However, the rest of this seed’s world will still be challenging, thanks to the complex terrain that it offers.
Seed Code: 288666951
Biomes: Taiga & Ocean
Village Coordinates: X: 103, Y: 64, Z: -282 (Bedrock)2. Ice Age Minecraft 1.18.1 Survival Seed
But even they won’t be able to save you from starvation. Be glad you are not exploring this seed in Minecraft Adventure mode. However, if you are exploring our list of Minecraft 1.18.1 survival seeds for challenges, you shouldn’t miss out on this one.
Seed Code: -2129398464
Biomes: Grove, Snowy Slopes, and Frozen Ocean3. Not Everyone Will Survive This
While some seeds come with a lack of resources, others put you in dangerous biomes. Well, this seed attempts to kill you off spawn. Yes, it’s not even hyperbole. You spawn next to water inside a deep lava pit. There are no blocks for you to place. So, this seed’s spawn point will push you into a lava pool if you aren’t quick enough.
The only way out is by swimming upwards and quickly. But that might be harder than it sounds, thanks to the hostile mobs spawning all around you. So, if you wish to put your skillset to the test, try this seed right away.
Seed Code: 1870652620
Biomes: Desert4. Stony Survival Island Seed in Minecraft 1.18.1
The main part of getting started in Minecraft’s survival world is finding wood and food. This seed spawns you on an island with only a few trees and no food. Yes, you can attempt getting apples from these trees, but the chances of getting enough to survive aren’t much. Not to forget, the number of trees is less on the Bedrock edition for some reason.
Seed Code: 401687118
Biomes: Stony Shore5. The Mining Seed
The above-ground jungle and bamboo jungle biome give you enough to get started. After that, it’s nothing but a test of your skills to mine in Minecraft. Though, do make sure to craft a sword (and use enchantments to make it powerful) before a pickaxe while entering the cave. The sheer number of mobs under this island is enough to overwhelm any player. Though, the presence of a mineshaft in both editions makes up for the same.
Seed Code: 333
Biomes: Jungle & Bamboo Jungle6. Almost All Biomes in Minecraft 1.18.1 Survival Seeds
A major drawback of playing in the survival mode of Minecraft is not getting enough ways to explore. Unlike creative, you can’t fly yourself to the biome of your liking. However, this seed attempts to level the plain for both modes. It spawns us at a point surrounded by almost all in-game biomes.
Analysis using SeedMap
Within the first 1500-2000 blocks, you can find almost all the Minecraft biomes. This includes the newer lush cave, dripstone cave, and the cliffs biomes too. Considering the world generation of Minecraft 1.18.1, seeds like such are getting harder to find for survival players.
Seed Code: 510815684
Biomes: Savanna7. The Badlands World
You can get plenty of gold and mineshaft loot before leaving the spawn. To make things even more interesting, almost all the caves in this area are lush caves, creating a scenic contrast with the rest of the world. However, the only drawback of this seed is that you can’t find any structure in the biome other than the ruined portals.8. The Luckiest Unfair Island Seed
As some of you might guess, we are calling this seed unfair because its main feature is Java exclusive. You spawn on a tiny jungle island with almost no piece of reliable ground within a few hundred blocks. Some trees and mobs can provide you with resources and food, but that’s it for the Bedrock users.
Seed Code: 1479235289
Temple Coordinates: X: 33, Y: 72, Z: 37 (Java)9. The Classic Minecraft Survival Seed
It spawns you on a large plains island with plenty of trees, mobs, and other resources to get you started. Once you are done, you can swim or boat yourself to a nearby larger chunk of land. There, you can continue the rest of the journey of finding villages, exploring the Nether, and more. The seed is simple in most terms, but its survival island’s leveled plains are definitely a rare sight in the new update.10. The Jungle Puzzle
Some Minecraft seeds are challenging because there’s too little to survive. Others are challenging because there is an overwhelming amount of resources. This seed focuses on the latter and pushes it to the next level. We spawn in one of the largest jungle and bamboo jungle biome. You have to struggle for hundreds of blocks if you want to make it out of this biome.
Unless you are a fan of pandas and jungles, this seed might not be for you. As for the underground world, this seed also offers one of the largest ever networks of lush caves. If you can take care of the mobs, this seed’s underground area can be the perfect spot for a lush cave base. But that’s after you find a cave opening in the thick jungle. If not, you can always turn to a dedicated list of the best lush cave seeds in Minecraft 1.18.1 right here.11. Minecraft 1.18.1 Survival Seed with No Villages
One of the best and most relieving parts of any Minecraft survival world is its villages. But what if you load up a seed and it has no villages, at least not within the first 1800 blocks of your spawn. This seed puts you into this exact scenario on both Minecraft 1.18.1 Java and Bedrock editions.
Seed Code: -222109845
Biomes: Birch Forest12. The Dark Hostile Spawn
You can expect to meet your first hostile mob within the first minute of spawn. With no tools and weapons at hand, survival in this seed will only depend upon your game sense. Not to forget, the other islands nearby are also home to dark forests. But that’s a problem for when you escape the spawn island without falling into one of the many caves.Try These Top Minecraft 1.18.1 Survival Seeds
Apple’s Tim Cook explains that FBI request is like ‘software cancer’ in interview
A portion of the interview is Cook reiterating much of what he said in his open letter to the public just after the news of the FBI’s demand to build a backdoor into iOS came to light. But he moves on to explain the overall significance of the situation, and that if Apple does give in to the request, it will set a dangerous precedent that will “be bad for America,” in that private user data will become victim to the threat of something that “might be there.”
“The protection of people’s data is incredibly important and so the tradeoff here is that we know that doing this could expose people to incredible vulnerabilities. This is not something that we would create. This would be bad for America and it would also set a precedent that I believe many people in America would be offended by. And so when you think about those which are knowns, compared to something that might be there, I believe we are making the right choice.
Some things are hard, somethings are right. Some things are both. This is one of those things.”
The strongest message from Cook, however, is his statement that creating the tool the FBI wants, something that would allow access to the secured data on anyone’s phone, would be “the software equivalent of cancer.”
“The only way we know would be to write a piece of software that we view as sort of the software equivalent of cancer. We think it’s bad news to write. We would never write it. We have never written it.”
Another important point that Cook brings up is the slippery slope the FBI’s argument for gaining access to a device rests on. Right now they’re saying they only want access to this one iPhone (which, as it turns out, isn’t exactly true), but what about the next time?
“f a court can ask us to write this piece of software, think about what else they could ask us to write. Maybe it’s an operating system for surveillance. Maybe it’s the ability for law enforcement to turn on the camera. I mean, I don’t know where this stops. But I do know this is not what should be happening in this country. This is not what should be happening in America. If there should be a law that compels us to do it, it should be passed out in the open, and the people of America should get a voice in that. The right place for that debate to occur is in Congress.”
We’ve shared a handful of choice excerpts and quotes here, along with a small portion of the interview embedded below, but the full thing is important to watch, so head over to ABC’s site to check it out.
Cook: What they want is, they want us to develop a new operating system that takes out the security precautions. Including the precaution that, after 10 tries, if somebody has set “erase all data after 10,” they want that to not be in there. And then they want an ability to go through a number of passwords at the speed of a modern computer.Muir: A computer would do that to figure out the code…Cook: A computer would do that. We believe that is a very dangerous operating system.Muir: Because once people know that exists, you say, the cat is out of the bag.Cook: If one of the bad guys knew that that existed, think about the target that is. Everybody would want that system. Because you could get in… It has the potential to get into any iPhone. This is not something that should be created.
“No one would want a master key built that would turn hundreds of millions of locks. Even if that key were in the possession of the person that you trust the most, that key could be stolen. That is what this is about.”

Tim Cook addressed graduates of Stanford University yesterday. Notably, Apple co-founder and college dropout Steve Jobs delivered one of the best commencement addresses I’ve heard thus far fourteen years ago, also at Stanford.
Here are the key excerpts from Cook’s speech. On privacy
If we accept as normal and unavoidable that everything in our lives can be aggregated, sold, or even leaked in the event of a hack, then we lose so much more than data.
We lose the freedom to be human.
Think about what’s at stake. Everything you write, everything you say, every topic of curiosity, every stray thought, every impulsive purchase, every moment of frustration or weakness, every gripe or complaint, every secret shared in confidence.
In a world without digital privacy, even if you have done nothing wrong other than think differently, you begin to censor yourself. Not entirely at first. Just a little, bit by bit. To risk less, to hope less, to imagine less, to dare less, to create less, to try less, to talk less, to think less. The chilling effect of digital surveillance is profound, and it touches everything.
What a small, unimaginative world we would end up with. Not entirely at first. Just a little, bit by bit. Ironically, it’s the kind of environment that would have stopped Silicon Valley before it had even gotten started.
We deserve better. You deserve better. On being a builder
He encouraged students to be builders in their lives.
Whatever you do with your life, be a builder. You don’t have to start from scratch to build something monumental.
And, conversely, the best founders, ones whose creations last, and whose reputations grow rather than shrink with passing time, they spend most of their time building piece by piece. Builders are comfortable in the belief that one day their life’s work will be bigger than them. Bigger than any one person. They’re mindful that their effects will span generations. That’s not an accident, and in a way, it’s the whole point. On Steve Jobs
Cook initially refused to believe that Steve was terminally ill.
When Steve got sick, I had hardwired my thinking to belief that he would get better. I not only thought he would hold on, I was convinced down to my core that he’d still be guiding Apple long after I myself was gone.
Then one day he called me over to his house and told me that it wasn’t going to be that way. Even then, I was convinced he would stay on as chairman. That he would step back from the day-to-day, but always be there as a sounding board. But there was no reason to believe that. I never should have thought it. The facts were all there. And when he has gone, truly gone, I learned the real visceral difference between preparation and readiness. It was the loneliest I’ve ever felt in my life by an order of magnitude.
It was one of those moments where you can be surrounded by people, yet you don’t really see, hear, feel them. But I could sense their expectations. When the dust settled, all I knew was that I was going to have to be the best version of myself that I could be. I knew that if you got out of bed every morning and set your watch by what other people expect or demand, it’d drive you crazy. So what was true then is true now. Don’t waste your time living someone else’s life. It takes too much mental effort; effort that should be dedicated to creating or building. On life and death
Cook said he never felt lonelier in his life than after being named Apple’s CEO shortly before Jobs’s passing, saying “your mentors may leave you prepared, but they can’t leave you ready.”
Graduates, the fact is, when your time comes, and it will, you’ll never be ready. But you’re not supposed to be. Find the hope in the unexpected. Find the courage in the challenge. Find your vision on the solitary road.
Don’t get distracted.
There are too many people who want credit without responsibility Too many who show up for the ribbon cutting without building anything worth a damn. Be different. Leave something worthy. And always remember that you can’t take it with you.
You’re going to have to pass it on.
“Fourteen years ago, Steve stood on this stage and told your predecessors, ‘your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.’ Here’s my corollary: You mentors may leave you prepared, but they can’t leave you ready.”
Cook’s prior commencement addresses include Tulane University last month, his graduate alma mater Duke University last year, MIT in 2023, George Washington University in 2024 and his undergraduate alma mater Auburn University in 2010.
How do you like Cook’s latest speech?
As announced back in February, Tim Cook today delivered the commencement address for Tulane University at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. During his speech, Cook told the story of his journey to Apple, talked about climate change, and encouraged the Tulane graduates to make a difference in the world
Prior to his speech, Cook was awarded an honorary degree from Tulane. The Apple CEO was praised for transforming “Apple into the archetype for success and innovation in the realm of technology.”
Cook opened his speech by calling on the Tulane graduates to be more open to others, and recognize the problems that others face:
Building on that, Cook elaborated on the story of how he originally came to Apple, invoking Steve Jobs’ commitment bringing powerful technology to more people. Cook explained that at the time, he had a stable job at Compaq, which seemed like “it would be on top forever.” Apple, on the other hand, was on the verge of bankruptcy:
“I had a comfortable job at a company called Compaq, that at the time looked like it was going to be on top forever. As it turns out, most of you are probably too young to remember its name. But in 1998, Steve Jobs convinced me to leave Compaq behind and join a company on the verge of bankruptcy. They made computers, but at that moment at least, people weren’t interested in buying them. Steve had a plan to change things. It wasn’t just about the iMac or the iPad, it was about the values that brought these inventions to life. The idea that putting powerful tools in the hands of everybody can move society forward.
We can build things that help us imagine a better world, then make it real. There’s a saying that if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. At Apple, I learned that that is a crock. you’ll work harder than you ever thought possible, but the tools will feel light in your hands.”
Cook then shifted the conversation to an issue that he has spoken about before: climate change. Cook said that in many ways, his generation was failed the graduates of Tulane. Cook noted that when it comes to climate change, it doesn’t get easier based on who wins an election. He also pointed out that “we don’t build monuments to trolls, and we’re not going to start now. ”
In some important ways, my generation failed you.
“We spent too much time debating, too focused on the fight and not enough on progress. You don’t need to look far to find an example of that failure. Here today, in this very place, in an arena where thousands once found desperate comfort from a hundred-year disaster, the kind that seems to be happening more and more frequently, I don’t think we can talk about who we are as people without talking about climate change. This problem doesn’t get easier based on who wins an election. It’s about who has one life’s lottery and has the luxury of ignoring this issue, and who stands to lose everything. The costal communities, including some right here in Louisiana, that are already making plans to leave behind the laces theyve called home for generations and head for higher ground. The fishermen whose nets come up chúng tôi wildlife rs
These are poeple’s homes, their livelihoods. The land where their grandparents were born, lived, and died. When we talk about climate change, I challenge you to look for those who have the most to lose and find the real, true emphathy that comes from something shared. That is really what we owe one another. When you do that, the political noise dies down and you can feel your feet planted on solid ground. We don’t build monuments to trolls and we’re not going to start now.”
Cook concluded his speech by encouraging the Tulane graduates to build a better world for future generations, and make a change and focus on the major problems facing society:
“Be motivated by your duty to build a better world. Young people have chagned the course of history time and time again. Now it’s time to change it once more. I know the urgency of that truth is with you today. Feel big, because no one can make you feel small. Feel brave because the challenges are great but you are great. Feel grateful, because someone sacrificed to make this moment possible for you. Here in this stadium, I can feel this courage. Try something. You may succeed, you may fail. Make it your life’s work to remake the world. There is nothing more beautiful than working to leave something better for humanity.”
Next on the docket for Cook is Stanford University’s graduation next month. Cook is set to deliver the commencement speech for Stanford on June 16th at Stanford Stadium. Cook’s speech at Tulane was live streamed on the university’s website and can be rewatched below.
